i know he's not a real god. He does have the power to destroy all villages, one at a time, but the original Rinnegan user likely, only introduced the ninja of the lands to nin,gen,chakra tai, and how to manipulate the elements. Those that had the potential anyway. Maybe he too "destroyed the world" before the one that the 1st Hokage and Madara grew up in. Maybe the first 2 Hokage's died defeating him. Now im just dreaming but i would like that.

Yeah Pein's no "god" but like Madara who I also consider somewhat a god, he naturally has immense chakra, only one can use all elements, can manipulate 6 bodies at once with a shared vision, CAn destroy a whole village in seconds. He is a god in this Shinobi World. Only "gods" are born with superabilities like his.

The Six Paths of Pain is an extremely formidable foe. He has gone undefeated for so long because of the unique powers each body possessed and the perfect co-op performances due to them sharing the same vision field. Without prior knowledge against Pain, surviving an encounter is unlikely at best.

However, no matter how strong Pain is, there is a secret so devastating that it must be hidden at all cost. Perhaps the main reason why Pain so strong has to due with the fact that Nagato may be incapable of fending for himself. I think Nagato at one time was a very effective shinobi, but certain cricumstances forced him to create Pain and fight from afar.

Pain would be considered invinceable to a certain degree, however, knowing his secret and the trick to the bodies will cause his perfect winning record to collapse. I believe if Nagato could seriously fight himself, he wouldn't use the six bodies. The six bodies are a mean to protect his horrible situation. Its kind of sad in a way because Nagato's to protect his secret at all costs through the six bodies is his only means of survival.

He's definately not a God, but he is a formidable foe, possibly second or third to none as the most poweful adversary.

I think Negato lives like that so Yahiko can "live" his dream. Are we to assume that some tragic accident or battle led to the one who gave birth to all this, for him to be known as the Sage of 6 Paths?..He got the Name because he too had to be immobile in order to give 6 dead bodies your chakra and abilities and anything else they get from Negato. The original Sage cannot walk a path when the user is in "Sage Mode". 7 bodies, 6 paths. Also, if Negato uses 6 dead bodies to do his fighting, he really doesnt have to worry about losing Konan or die and not be able to protect her anymore, while yahiko lives his dream. Everyone's happy

He's almighty. He solo'd an entire village with one technique. He killed a Sannin, Konoha's best Jounin, and is on the verge of defeating the super haxxed Naruto. All this, and he isn't even fighting to kill Naruto.

Yeah plus he's taken out most likely the four strongest frog summons (including the boss of them), with three of them being KO'd together in a single hit.

I don't think he's a god but he certainly is at a level above all of the shinobi we've seen so far. He out-qualifies "high-level" in my opinion.

Sure he has a weakness but he isn't stupid to just leave that weakness unguarded. That's why he has Konnan and we even haven't seen what she can really do in a fight either so its all up for grabs. The only person I can see taking Pain down is Naruto and he's currently in a shitty spot so who's knows how this arc might turn out.

Pain is just an emo who thinks he is god, likes to pierce other dudes, is a control freak, and probably doesnt eat or exercise too much hence his appearence is almost like that of a zombie.

well pain certainly is mighty though not all mighty, but at least we can understand why the rinnegan is all powerfull compared to the byakugan or the sharingan.

i mean simply neither would work on him...
sharingan...tsukoyomi...no affect since nagato can dsrupt the chakra and because of the other paths of pain he may not even fall under it...ameterasu and susano...well if all 6 pains are together i'm sure they can avoid them or neutralise them quite comfortably plus the few techniques they use are great team moves( i mean stuff like reverse summoning all the pains etc)

byakugan...again would have no effect since the chakra points can be stopped but since the chakra source isn't coming from the body itself but from out of the body again it would have no effect.

as people have stated pain seems to only have major weakness and that seems to be the state of the host body (nagato).

it makes you consider whether nagato and madarra are working together or just tolerating each other since neither may be able to kill the other...madarra because he may not know anything about nagatos body and pain because of madarras immortality and his unique jutsu.
