Just a thought but how probable is it that Naruto's high speed movement is a result of Naruto converting his body into pure energy in order to move? Like he's literally moving at the speed of light. This would mean that Naruto doesn't need to learn FTG or anything in order to fight on par with people who teleport/use space time.

It's more probable that he's just using the extra chakra he's gaining from the Kyuubi to increase his leg strength to boost his speed. While I do think it would be cool, I don't think Kishi would go to that extent to blatantly rip off DBZ.

Speaking of DBZ moves, I would probably compare Rikkudo Mode to Kaio-ken. I was looking at the dragonball wikia a few weeks ago, and I remembered the exact way they worded the description of it.

As a result of the Kaio-ken, the user's base ki level, as well as their strength, speed, and senses, greatly increases for an instant....

Similarities much? They even mentioned senses (which I didn't know about before reading that).

I don't really know how to explain his fast movement, but I doubt your suggestion is the only explanation behind it. Think of it, had that been true, then all Jinks should have been able to do that, the moment they were in their tailed state. We do know that Naruto was much faster in his tailed mode than normal mode, but this seems to be something way off the charts. Seeing that Killerbee has complete control over his beast, he should be able to do something similar and that would mean that Kisame should have had much more difficulty with him.

My probable idea is that Minato either tampered with or made some changes to the seal with regards to his Hiraishin jutsu. Outlandish and rudimentary, I know but that could probably explain the exclusivity to his speed, which otherwise becomes nothing but a norm for Jinks.

You have to take into consideration the power difference between the Bijuu. The 9 tails is vastly more powerful than say, the 2 tails. As for Bee and his fight with "Kisame", Bee wasn't really taking that fight seriously (he was trying to write rap lyrics mid-fight) so I'm betting he wasn't pushing himself to his full capacity when he was synced with the 8 tails. Naruto, having just unlocked the Kyuubi chakra, most likely wasn't used to that vast increase in chakra and couldn't control it properly (as shown by him driving his foot into the wall and getting stuck).

Having said that, I now believe that this speed is characteristic to Naruto as a Jinchuuriki simply because of his size. When other hosts transform, they become full sized Bijuus. With Naruto, his inability to transform into a massive 9 tailed fox, means that all that power has to be compressed into his smaller body, which could probably explain his speed and strength since that would be due to higher concentration of chakra over a body with lesser density as opposed to a bijuu transformation where both are far more proportionate in comparison.

Well, the way you tried to describe it is exactly how Byakuya described Ichigo's Bankai. Instead of being a massive power expansion, it's a massive power compression to increase his speed while keeping at Bankai fighting power.

Now that you mention it, it actually is! I seriously wasn't thinking of Bleach when I wrote this, but I guess that line of thinking probably has stemmed from the explanation of such concepts that I got from both DBZ and Bleach.

i think Kishi gave us a hint earlier on that Kushina was a Jink. "Naruto has th esame choice of Jutsu and fighting style as Kushina." Which leads me to think that the 4th Hokage put multi shadow clone on the forbidden scroll, so no one with chakra lower than a Jink would try it.

I actually think that for some reason Naruto has dormant abilities form his parents just waiting to come out. Remember when Kakashi said Naruto has 4x the normal level of chakra, he just uses the majority to hold the Fox back? Well IF that is true it would fall in line with the massive amount of concentrated chakra to move that fast! Which means that could have been why Minato could move that fast w/o teleporting. Then Kushina taught him seals and J-man taught him about summoning and he put it all together.

I somehow think that Multi shadow clone Jutsu will always be his BEST jutsu.

You must be new to the manga. We've already determined Naruto is going to be the next Sage. As for the speed, it's more probable to be the Kyuubi chakra flowing into him that caused the increase.

Because he's an idiot? He's had 3+ years of training the Rasengan and still requires a clone. He can't form a Bijuu ball without forming the cloak into extra hands, and when he first tried forming a Bijuu ball like a tailed beast, he caused himself to vomit.

This matter has been closed for months. Why bring it up?

Um...what? Nothing like that has ever been said of Naruto. He's been said to resemble Minato (rightly so, since the guy is his dad). The only thing that Naruto's been compared to Kushina was his personality. Other than that, nothing has been said of their fighting abilities.

Again...what? How do you figure when the scroll belonged to and was sealed by the First Hokage?

He's 16, if he had any latent abilities that were genetically inherent they would've shown by now. All people with genetic abilities had manifested them at a very young age.

No? All Kakashi said was Naruto had at least double Kakashi's chakra. Never said anything about 4x the normal level of chakra. What is the "normal level of chakra"? Has there been a standard placed that I'm not aware of?

Kakashi has half the chakra of Naruto and can move fast enough that he develops tunnel vision when using the Chidori.

Or it could be because Minato had an extremely precise control of his chakra, allowing him to manipulate it into his legs for maximum effect to give him that speed without tiring him out.

I'll keep this simple...because the complex messes me up.

We have been shown that chakra and chakra control are the keys to speed. It was demonstrated to us back during the chunin exams...by Sakura of all people (when she used chakra to increase her speed and knock the shit out of Ino),

Bottom line, the more horsepower, or chakra...the more potential for speed.
Because of both his lineage and the Kyuubi, Naruto has maximum, "near limitless" chakra available.

One of the main factors for achieving maximum speed is control, or traction.
Just like race cars have to have special high quality tires to propel them forward and control their movement, Naruto requires perfection of his chakra control to achieve his fastest speed.

Having said this, is Naruto as fast as Minato? In all likelyhood...NO.

Minato's T/S jutsu made him King of The Mountain. Any chakra based speed has only been described as nearly as fast, or close...and close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. This is why Raikage, who is described as moving nearly at the speed of light, still can't touch Madara, whose speed is still below Minato's.

Inasmuch as Minato apparently did not learn how to use natural energy from the toads, I'm hoping that maybe he might have learned FTG from them...otherwise the only ways I see for Naruto to unlock the tech would be:

1. The special Kunia that Minato gave Kakashi.

2. Another subconscious gift like Itachi's.

3. Off screen training, like Sasuke's hawk summons (Wouldn't that Suck!)

PS. Yes Naruto is often as dumb as a box of rocks, but cut the guy some slack. He is being misled by Ninja's after all...masters of deception and all that. Naruto's upbringing left him dangerously short on common sense, so his social skills and worldly knowledge are understandably lacking. I'd be surprised if I saw an armadillo dick too. (Can't say that I'd get all happy though.)
