Or is it like Berserk, a story arc is animated the rest is still manga.

Nope, it started an anime, and finished an anime.

There is a manga, but it just follows the plot of the anime, which came first.

One of the best anime you will ever watch. The animation has this FLCL-ish effect which is insanely awesome. Awesome story, even more epic dialoug, character development is phenomenal, I could keep praising this anime but I'd be here a while. WATCH IT!!!!

Hell, the most popular of the OST is "Libra me" or something with the lines "FIGHT THE POWER!" as the chorus. How could it NOT be worth watching?

Besides, Yoko is hot in all stages of her life. There are a few timeskips with no gehy Naruto-type fillers inbetween.
