Being Malaysian is about driving in a German car to an Indian restaurant for an Indonesian food, then travelling home, grabbing a Pakistani kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. Because we have no originality.

I remember this. Again I'll say what I said one year ago. Where were the parents?

is this just another opportunity to blame the death of a youth due to the influence of a game/tv show??? gosh
where were the friends to pull him out? weren't they right there with him

all this time i thought the show was called NARUTO...guess we've been saying it wrong

I am usually not one to laugh at misfortune, but i do tend to laugh at idiocy and bad parenting.

This is the parents fault, through and through, even if they were not the ones to look after them playing outside. They certainly are the ones to educate him to basic survival instincts and more importantly educate him on whether or not you can in fact fly, or manipulate sand.

The Aliens should come down and clean our Gene pool. A good 90% culling should do it.

I'm wondering why he even burried himself in sand. I mean isn't it obviously that you can't breathe with your head in the sand? And what about his friends who were playing with him? Didn't anyone of them mention that it is dangerous to be buried by sand? The parents must have been shocked about their child being so naive/brainless.
Somehow it's really their fault, but I don't think it's funny. It's too wierd for being funny.
Well, I think it's a accident which could have been prevented.

Re: 10-year-old boy died, by imitating Gaara?

This goes to show that parents need to be responsible for taking care of their children. That kid was acting more like a stereotypical ostrich than a Naruto ninja. I say, blame the parents, not the media. If I do have kids of my own, I'll watch them like a hawk and come to their aid if they get injured or in trouble during play. Parents are shirking their responsibilities by not teaching their kids how to be responsible people. Whatever it's on the computer online, playing a video game online, or just simple going to the park to play; children must learn how to make better choices in their lives. Parents have their heads in the sand when it comes to what kids are becoming interested in in a metaphorical sense. They must get their heads out of the metaphorical sand before the kid gets it's head stuck in the sand in a literal sense. For the kid, may he rest in peace. But for the parents, they are stuck with this bad choice not to look after the kid for the rest of their lives. The boy was their responsibility and now he is gone for good and he'll never come back.
