It depends on what kind of wrestling. That is greco-roman style wrestling in the video. It's pretty much exactly the same as freestyle, except you can't attack your opponent's legs. This is to encourage more fucking throws, which is awesome.

In folkstyle (college/scholastic rules) the rules are pretty simple:
Takedown (neutral position to dominate position)=2 points
Escape (defensive position to neutral position)=1 point
Reversal (defensive position to dominate position)=2 points
Exposing an opponent's back for 2-4 seconds=2 points
Exposing an opponent's back for 5 seconds+=3 points
Pinning both of your opponent's shoulder blades to the mat=auto-win.

Biggest difference between folkstyle and greco-roman/freestyle is back exposure points. In folkstyle you can only get back points while in a dominate position, and you only get them once per hold/pinning combination. So if you throw a guy on his back from standing and hold him there you get 2 points for a takedown and three for back points. Then you have to let go of your current hold and transition to something else before getting more back points.

In greco/freestyle you can get back points from the neutral position as well, and there is no 2 second rule either. If you expose your opponent's back for even a split second then you get back points. You also don't have to release your hold to get additional back points. So, for example, If a guy goes for a single-leg takedown and you pick his knee to expose his back to the mat for a second then you get back points despite still being in a neutral position. And if you flip him to his back, he flips back, and you flip him back again you get two sets of back points. Where in folkstyle you wouldn't have scored any points in that situation.

Edit: and they weren't getting points for throwing anyone outside the circle. They were either getting points for the takedown or back exposure. If you watch closely they still had at least one supporting point of their body inside the circle as they executed the move. Mat awareness is also a vital skill all wrestlers must learn.

That's pretty much the gist of it. What makes wrestling so FUCKING GODDAMN BADASS is that even if you're losing by 14 points with 10 seconds left in the match, you still have a chance to win via pin. This encourages a manly "never quit" attitude and never taking your opponent lightly, even for a moment. So you want to constantly dominate your opponent, and if you're getting dominated you want to keep fuckin' battling like a badass and not take that shit like a bitch. Iron will. Fucking manly shit.
