And FG's question regarding who Stan Lee is was stupid, if looked at directly, since he obviously has access to the vast network of knowledge known as the internet and it's a relatively easy thing to look up. However, LG was most likely just implying that FG is a some loser comic nerd with her post, and FG (Giving him the benefit of the doubt) was likely responding in jest by saying he the equivalent of "Hey, I'm not a loser comic nerd. =D" by stating that he isn't knowledgeable about comic writers and shit.

In short, FG was likely joking around and a couple of you guys took it too seriously because you're dumbshits. And even if he wasn't joking, you're still dumbshits.

It doesn't really have much to do with being into comics. It's surprising because Stan Lee is an American cult icon. He's a huge reason comic books are where they are today, and comic books are a huge part of American culture.

Like I said, it's almost like not knowing who Steven Spielberg is. Even if you might not know what his hugely famous movies are, or that he produced many more, you would still know he's a movie director.

I'm not calling him lame or anything, I'm just surprised he didn't know who Stan Lee was. You definitely don't have to be a comic nerd (knowledgeable comic book reader, I assume is the implied meaning of that) to know who he is.
