Let me call you a tool of the White House, basing whatever you say from impartial Democrats and not checking for the truth. Don't mistake concern with outrage; I never said I was outraged, concerned yes, but not outraged. Copying from another website? All I have copied is an quote from the White House and cited the Privacy act of 1979. A tool? Doing my own research about the privacy act and being critical of the accusations, objectively comparing comparing the privacy act the the White House's actions? If so then who isn't a tool?

When did I say you couldn't write to the White House? I actually implied that you could if you actually took time to read what I said carefully. You can copy and paste and then send it right on in. However, people are lazy and will use the forward button to send my email in "quotation marks". Regardless if it does not contain my name nor any personal details (which isn't the issue) it is still my use of freedom of speech and I own it due to copyright laws. You can use it and send it to anyone through fair use but you cannot give the federal government permission to store it since you yourself do not own it, only I can. So any forwarded emails that contain those "quotation marks" marking what I said is the federal government storing what I wrote without my permission, without expressed stature, and is not connected to any criminal investigation which violates the Privacy Act of 1979. It is not that complicated to understand really.

I can forward whatever emails I want. They're MINE. They're in MY inbox. If you send me an email then you're giving it to me. Just like if you wrote me a letter. I can do whatever the fuck I want with it, including sending it to the damn government and giving them permission to store it. It's not your email, it's my email that you wrote to me. Nothing of yours is being stored.

Really, it's not a hard concept to grasp. Hence why I called you an idiot. Copyright laws do not apply, since I'm not claiming ownership of your written work. I'm claiming ownership of the actual email that you sent me. Just like I could give them a letter that you sent me. Or I could give them a book that I bought. I own those things. I can give them to anyone, and give permission to store them to anyone, since they are MINE. I don't need your permission to do this since I never made any confidentiality agreement with you. And the government doesn't need your permission to store something of MINE.

Think of it like a letter that you wrote me. Who owns that letter? You or me? Me. Exactly. You gave it to me. It's mine. If I gave that to the government and said they can store it then that's all the permission they need. It's my piece of paper that they're storing. They're storing a letter. MY letter. Doesn't matter if you're the one who wrote it. It's mine. An email is the SAME EXACT THING. It's just a digital letter. I could hit the print button to turn it into an actual piece of paper letter if I wanted. So the same exact rules apply.

Please, tell me exactly what there is to be concern over here? They're clearly just asking people to send them things they come across that may cause concern so that they can simply address those things. They're pretty much just encouraging communication, and nothing more here. It's not an invasion of privacy. They're not wiretapping or spying on anyone. They're basically just saying "If you feel like it, send us shit that could be causing you concern, like chain-emails saying that your grandpa will be sent to a death camp if the bill passes, and we'll clear up this kind of misinformation the best we can." Holy shit, how horrible! I hope this doesn't set a precedent!

Also, come to think of it, your argument is basically just against them saving emails. Because I can email the government at any time with your "free speech" if I felt like it. I could email a senator your post right now. So, by your retarded crybaby logic, they'd be 'recording your copyrighted free speech lolololol.' So your argument has nothing to do with the topic of discussion, really. Since they've been saving all emails for a while now. And, by making government official's emails readily available, they've also been encouraging people to email them for a while now too. And they haven't requested any personal information about anyone now. There is no "dangerous precedent" going on here, since all this shit you're saying applied long before they encouraged people to email them concerning misinformation they came across about healthcare reform.

So it all boils down to you having concern about them saving emails. Since if they didn't do that, you'd have no argument. Correct? Now sit down and put on your thinking cap for just a second here. You really think them saving emails is violating any laws? Think hard now. Maybe check the privacy policy that whitehouse lawyers most likely wrote up if you get stumped.
