Hi all, I'm new here, so I'm not even sure whether this is the right place to post this or has something like this already been posted a hundreds of times, but bear with me.

I ran out of anime titles to watch and I need some recommendations.

Preferred anime type I am looking for at the moment:

-The anime can be either series or a movie

-The anime is preferably aimed at mature audience

-Preferably, the anime resembles Death Note (In terms of artwork, animation, intelligent characters, awesome story...etc.)

-The anime tends not to be "cute" (By "cute" I mean: it has small, inoccent girls with high-pitched voice, big eyes and ADHD (P.S: I know Death Note has it's fair amount of "cuteness" when it comes to Misa, but for me the story more than makes up for it))

-The anime must not have crappy animation & artwork (If it does, the story must make up for it - I can't stand anime that looks like a pre-schooler animated it)

-Preferred genre would be thriller/action/drama (I'm not in the mood for romances and comedies at the moment, but I may watch them if they seem interesting enough)

-I don't care about the amount of violence, gore or nudity, as long as that anime is good

-The anime is preferably gloomy and dark (!YAY!)

well bleach is an awesome manga but i h8 the anime
ive heard that full metal alchemist is pretty good
naruto is still going on though but the manga is way morer advanced

Berserk anime is pretty awesome and fits your criteria pretty well.

Berserk manga is 100x better than the animu. But Berserk manga is seriously fucking awesome as shit though. The animu is still awesome as fuck, especially compared to most other animu series. (Just in case some dumbshit nerd elitist comes in and says "lololol lyke teh animu sucks, red teh manga hurrrr." The animu doesn't suck, the manga is just that good.)

Oh, and it's only 26 episodes.

I threw a quick glance at Berserk, it seems rather old doesn't it?
But ill take it into consideration anyway, thanks.

Well I enjoyed all of the anime on that list, each and every one is special in it's own way:
-Death Note (highly intellectual, detective/thriller, anime with main protagonist being the antihero)
-G.I.T.S (Rather political but still has awesome story as well as action scenes, the animation is perfect)
-Nana (A very realistic comedy/romance anime)

If you are more specific about what you like, I can recommend you some...

If you're talking about the demon and magic type shit as being odd, then just check out the anime. It takes place during a part of the story where that stuff is basically non-existent at that point. There is still a little bit, but it's pretty rare. By that, I mean there's three incidents total, I believe. And two of them are really short. I highly recommend it. Honestly, I can't imagine anyone not thinking Berserk is awesome after checking it out.


And awesome. I've seen about half the stuff on your list, and liked most of them. G.I.T.S. being one of my favorites. I'll probably look into everything you've got listed there eventually. Good shit, man. =D

maybe Yu Yu Hakusho, Zatch bell, Inuyasha, Rorouni Kenshin...Sailor Moon...they are all old animes though.

Monster - My all time favorite!!! Best anime you'll ever find imho, unless your 11 years old then watch DBZ or something like that. This also may be somewhat like death note, its about an extremely deep realistic story unlike death note though. ;]
