Bruce Lee was never shot... I think you are confusing him with his son Brandon Lee who was shot in the taping of the move Crow!

Bruce Lee died, because he had an allergic reaction to asprin which made him burst a blood vessel in his head.

And no one can make Bruce take asprin unless he wants to. Otherwise he kicks their ass.

I don't think Bruce Lee died from aspirin. No one really knows the really reason for his death anymore. There were a lot of rumours and many different stories about his death. He wasn't shot though...that was his son.

And I agree with you totally, Aburameman! NO ONE CAN BEAT BRUCE LEE! No real martial artist could beat him. His theory in JKD, his techniques and skill are just undefeatable and really impressive. Bruce Lee once described in Cantonese that JKD is basically about "trying to be the fastest one to attack". That's the basic attack theory behind JKD - to attack when your opponent least expects it...attack just when your opponent attacks.

JKD is also not a martial art by the way. It's a martial art theory developed by Bruce Lee. THe majority of its components are based on Wing Chun. JKD is basically a theory which can be adapted from any other martial art. Many JKD masters and schools around the world are FAKE! You can't really master and learn JKD without any martial art background. That wasn't the real intention of Bruce Lee's JKD.

Yep...Muay Thai is the best! REAL Muay Thai is so tough. The defensive and offensive techniques are so devastating. The stances are also really cool. I like their blocking stances, especially the one against a low kick, and also the "wall" which is used against high kicks, close combat charges/attacks etc.

I've been watching a lot of K1 lately, and I've realized that many martial artist in the competition are crap. They didn't learn the real techniques of the martial art at all. For example: many American or Japanese Muay Thai fighters claim that they represent Muay Thai Fighting clubs, but actually I've noticed that they don't fight with proper Muay Thai style. Their techniques are messy and not real Muay Thai. This is also true with many American Karate fighters. They fight like kickboxers rather than Karate.

Swordsmanship? Like kendo and iaido? Sword martial arts?

In martial arts, the only weapons I like are the staff, Chinese spear, a chinese weapon where there's a long staff and at the end there's like a curved blade, and also the nunchucks.

But I prefer hand-to-hand combat martial arts more. Much more exciting. I like to study the techniques and theories of different martial arts. I also like to watch martial artists of different martial arts fight.

@Typhoon: I believe the weapon you are thinking of is called a Naginata. I might be wrong but that's what seems, to me, what you are describing.

I like Kendo. My brother has tried to teach me some sword stances, blocks, and attacks but it never really stayed in me......Sucks.

Oh and conclusion after going to the Aikido Dojo: I reallllllly want to take it now. It was fun and it completely different from the TKD crap I ave learned. (not saying TKD is crap just my Dojang(Korean word))

The weapon I was talking about is kinda like a Naginata. But the blade is a bit wider and bigger. Naginata is the japanese version, but I like the Chinese version better. But thanx anyway!

I think many martial arts schools are crap, especailly the ones that teach foreign martial arts in a foreign country, e.g. a Karate school in USA. The proper forms and techniques are taught wrong in many of those schools.

So you're gonna quit TKD now?

I box from time to time, but anyone can beat me once they figure how to stop my rib punch. Which is my trump card, I have yet to meet anyone who can take my rib punch and not be winded.

Hey cool! Me and friends used to box sometimes, but our rib punches doesn't do any damage. So we kinda got fed up and gave up punching the body...we just kept punching the head. We all got headaches after a while...haha. Maybe we're punching wrong? Do you have any explaination to this, Aburameman?
