S-rank Shinobi

Okay we all know that a S-rank shinobi is normally a Missing-nin or a kage but who do you think, in the manga, deserve to be called a S-rank? Here's my list(I don't put any missing-nin or Jinchuriki):

Kakashi (Obviously)

Gai (He did beat Kisame)

Shikamaru (even thought he isn't the combat type his brain would class him in this position. Having him as a General could make the difference between a crushing lost and a total victory. He's still only a chunin only because he doesn't want to be a jonin yet.)

what's yours? (and please don't flame on my choice. be respectful.

Anyone who is of jounin level is considered S-Class as primarily jounin are the one's who're supposed to be assigned to S-Ranked Missions.

s rank is given to criminals its not a rank since the criminals are all usually jounin level.

s-rank is not a real rank but just a way to quantify their power.

that's how I see it:
D-rank is composed mostly of Academy student ready to become Genin and Low Genin
C-rank is composed of Chunin ready Genin and Low Chunin
B-rank is Chunin and Low Tokubetsu Jonin
A-rank is Tokubetsu Jonin and normal Jonin

and finally S-rank is composed of Kage, Missing-nin, Upper Jonin (like Kakashi and probably Shikaku Nara) and Jinchuriki who can use they Biju's power (like Kirabi)

S-rank SHINOBI? I didn't know of such a thing till now. I knew about S-class criminal in the bingo book but not S-rank shinobi. I thought that S-class thing was just for the shinobi in the bingo book(the criminal book). And the stronger the shinobi the higher the rating, S beeing the highest.
Please correct me if I'm wrong!

In a few more years Haku would've been on that list. Although he may be considered missing-nin......hmmm idk haha

Gaara even after losing his tailed-beast is s-rank, mostly because he can still use his sand which is unique to him currently

Both of Gaara's siblings (i'm brain farting and can't remember their names haha), puppet mastery is incredible, plus the strategy he uses with the puppets makes him truly dangerous to anyone. and his sister....well actually forget her haha

I would say anyone who has completed S-Ranked missions is a S-Ranked ninja.

Also If someone could take on 2 or more jonin or higher level opponents by themselves them that qualifies them as S-Ranked in my opinion. Jiriaya took on itachi and kisame so he's S-ranked.

I'd say every kage and the sennin easily qualify. All of akatsuki is known to be S-ranked. Hanzo took on the sennin, so I'd include him. Sasuke is fighting several kages right now so he's included. Naruto's definitely in. Hmmm, who else.

Kakashi and his father (when he was alive)
Gai
Asuma
Shikamaru's father, but not shikamaru ( not yet )
The seven swordsmen of the hidden mist
The 2 ninja that each kage brought with them to the summit could be S-ranked or close to it.

BTW I don't think you can call every jounin a S-ranked ninja. Newly promoted jounin wouldn't be in that group. Kurenai is a good example. She was just promoted when she got her team. Also the gaara's sensei didn't seem that strong though he looks older than kakashi or gai.

Your joking right? I sure hope so. She might be the sexiest ninja in the sand village.

The 3 sand siblings are the only Non-fodder ninja in the whole village, so to say she's 2nd best isn't saying much. Gaara is barely S-ranked himself.

When Kakashi helped Tazuna against Zabuza he rated the mission A-rank. He said that Tazuna lied when he asked for a B-rank mission and that this was, actually, a very expensive A-rank mission.

S-rank mission is obviously even more dangerous. And Zabuza was pretty tricky guy do deal with.

Edit: Examples of S-ranked missions, in my opinion - Sakumo's mission, Team Kakashi's and Minato's during the war (Kakashi Gaiden), the hunt for Hidan and Kakuzu.

Would that mission have been bumped up to an S-ranked mission after discovering Haku also fighting on Zabuza's side?

^ Zabuza and haku were Jounin level ninja, so the mission probable would have been upgraded to S-rank.

Also kakashi was at a huge disadvantage because of the mist making his SG useless. Without the mist kakashi would have pwned both of them. I doubt he would be stupid enough to get trapped between haku's mirrors like naruto and sasuke. If he did we'd find out it was a shadow clone or something.
So yeah kakashi's S-ranked. As naruto would say. "Believe it"
