Just throwing in my two cents, but theres definitely a ring on the edge for the byakugan. So its a combination of all 3.

RS parted with the Juubi before his death because its chakra was so powerful and sinister that it would become a threat to the world again, so he split it into 9 separate entities. Therefore we will never see him without the Juubi's chakra to compare it to Bijuuless Gaara regarding physical effects.

Also the auto-sand had nothing to do with Shukaku. Its was imbued with Gaara's chakra that is why it defends him automatically.

Another aspect that adds to the possibility that RS acquired a doujutsu after becoming a jink is that the Juubi had those eyes, so it could have been a byproduct.

Though, that means we don't have proof that the 10 tails caused the Rinnegan in him at all if we can't prove that him having the Rinnegan was not due to his natural affinities when he sat on his death and gave his sons his power...

Unless, in that image, the Six Realms Sage was indeed controlling the 10 tails with his dojutsu prior to sealing it within himself with a sealing ninjutsu. The sharingan in the eye probably could have signified that The Sage's eyes inhibited a similar type of genjutsu. Heck, the sharingan in the image could have just been there to show a connection. But I don't have proof for that.

Not saying your theory is wrong, I'm just saying we need a bit more from the story however, I don't think we'll ever get that.

I also think the pattern we see isn't the juubi's, but rather the Sage who was controlling him. Its the same as when sasuke controlled manda and manda had the SG pattern in his eye, except this is much more powerful.

When madara was talking about projecting infinite tsukuyomi, we saw the same image in the moon. Does this mean he's got to have the same eye to use that tech.

Well since the Kyuubi is the most powerful, it'd make sense that Juubi would resemble its strongest puzzle piece right? I really don't like getting into theories because they usually end up in long posts that I don't feel like reading lol.

i think the gedo mazo is gonna be the juubi's new body. those spikes on his back will grow out into 10 tails. all of his eyes will fuse into one big ass eye.

just a thought.... the juubi eye looks like a lil of everything

the outer most ring for byakugan, all the rings for rinnegan, and a sharingan, within a sharingan within a sharingan.

What about the hands? The statue has human looking hands. Of course madara doesn't necessarily need it's body, if all he wants is the chakra.

a wolf makes sense.....stronger version of a fox, and the fox was the strongest counter part of the juubi.

im still hoping for a lion with ten big ass dreads. bob marley is the jinchuriki.

1.it is blind folded,a very long face(maybe one big eye in between)
2.10 cut somethings on back!! (maybe missing tails)

i agree with "ask me some thing".. RS was controlling the juubi with RG .. but as the beast was too powerful to be fully in control of,maybe atributes of its eye emerged with the rinnegan

i think gedo maza is the true shape of juubi and its original eye is the sharingan!!

In these pics I can count up to 9 or 10 chopped up things LOL.

My thought is that those chopped up things on it's back are actually the incomplete tails.

Nice find. Maybe there's an eye underneath that blindfold. On page 10 it almost looks like it covers a single eye.
