I also want to point out anyone that can obsess about another person for years has definite emotional attachment beyond that of friendship whether it be boy or girl. I cut Naruto some slack during the first arc because he was simply stupid and naive but he is 15-16 years old now, normal teenagers would be going after chicks more but Naruto's is still obsessing about Sasuke, about wanting to catch up to him in terms of skill and strength because he doesn't want anyone else but Sasuke to recognize him. To add more speculation towards Naruto homosexual possibilities he even talks less about Sakura and chases after girls less. When Sakura confessed to Naruto he blatantly rejected her, albeit, her motives were clearly visible that she just wanted to fuck around with his head but any other guy his age who claims to love a girl and that girl randomly returns the compliment that guy would be taking advantage of it. No, Naruto has to question it and further mores gets uber depressed when he finds out his own village wants to kill him and has dreams about him later on. I don't know, Naruto has me questioning some things.

This is pretty weak, but it could be some sort of foreshadowing. Kishi loves foreshadowing, and its not always strong.

The foreshadowing I'm talking about isn't directly about Naruto's homosexuality, but about a male character falling for naruto sometime in the future.

In some languages/cultures to walk with somebody can also mean to date somebody. Could this also be foreshadowing.

Now who could it be? Kakashi? I really doubt it even if he said those words. Shika? Nah i doubt it too. My money would be on Sai. Before joining team 7 Sai was practically emotionless. But after joining he started getting interested in emotions and relationships. Naruto has always been an example for him. Maybe that will transcend into something more.

I don't really believe all this will happen, but the possibilities of the "foreshadowing" occurred to me so I wanted to share my thoughts.

I haven't really read this thread so sorry if somebody already posted something like this and for repeating it

At first reading the page, it seemed like a clear giveaway that Naruto had romantic feelings for Sasuke and that Itachi was giving him romantic advice or something. This might just be an effect of going into English, but it has a very interesting meaning to say the least as it is currently stated even though it is somewhat refuted in later panels.

If there's someone who knows fairly good Japanese, it would be cool if you could enlighten me and everyone else to if its just an effect of translation or is as suggestive as it sounds.

I think that Naruto hasn't had ANY time to even develope feelings for anyone. Since Sasuke left, it was all drama drama drama. If you think about it it's been an emotional rollercoaster for Naruto. Remember, he lost the one person who acknowledged him the most: to me Naruto cares about Sasuke like a brother. Why is that bond so strong? Hum, let me see: Naruto was totally alone until team 7 arrived. He hated Sasuke at first and ALWAYS competed with him. Gradually Sasuke started to recognize Naruto's potential, they'd train together and help each other to improve themselves through it. Sasuke was also a very lonely kid. He always pushed people aside because he closed his heart to affection. He also hated Naruto at first, mostly because he was useless to him and annoying. Through training with Naruto he also improved himself, and no one had faced Sasuke before, not like Naruto did. Everyone would always tell Sasuke how talented and how awesome he was, until Naruto came. Since neither one of them were the talking type of person, training and challenging each other was the way to their strong bond, because they helped each other to reach what they wanted the most: to be a true shinobi. To me, that's the root of it all. They were both lonely boys that needed a true bond in the pursuit of the same objective.

You need more post NamikazeNaruto before you can thank someone's post. I'm amazed this thread has soo many post. Of course Naruto's not gay, gay humor is more accepted in the Japanese society and not so taboo. Naruto is just a young man obsessed with saving everyone around him, addicted to the Kyuubi and his power, and confused that such power just can't solve everything, or save his best friend who obviously don't feel the same way about him. Thats about it.

In my opinion, we we really just do not know if Naruto is straight or gay. Some of us want him to be straight, some people want him gay. Unless Naruto says "Im a gay." Or obviously applies it to something, we won't know he's gay. Unless Naruto says or implies "Im straight," or goes with a girl, we won't know. There is a 50% chance he's gay, and a 50% chance he's straight. He does seem homophobic, and to like girls at points in the manga. But in other parts he does have some gay tendencies, such as an obssession with another male. (Which could damn well be an innuendo) I personally do not think he is gay, but you have to keep your mind open to the possibility Kishi is implying it at times. His brotherly bond seems way over the top, but his lust for girls is shown a lot too. We won't know until something happens to prove either side.
