Reversed Grip. You don't cut with the edge in reverse grip. You stab then slice. Keyword being stab. With the tip. Which is poisoned.

THANK YOU. The situation cant be spelled out much more clearly than this. When Naruto extracted the poison from himself, he had no way of knowing if Kyuubi would do anything. Given the situation, would you take your chances HOPING that the Kyuubi can purge the poison or just not take risk and stab your hand and suck it out? Pretty simple answer there.

We don't know to what extent the Kyuubi can have on poison. Admit it or not though, it was Sakura's kunai that was used to scratch Naruto's face and there would be no point in Kakashi mentioning the poison if it weren't meant to be assumed that Naruto is now poisoned. No writer in his straight mind would put that in there only for Sakura to say "Oh it isnt poisoned. No worries." She just tried to use that kunai to KILL Sasuke.

edit: Someone mentioned that if the poison was an issue, then Kakashi and Sakura wouldve made a big show of it. Neither of them even saw the cut on Naruto's face! Check out the panels. Either Kakashi is in front of Naruto and Naruto's right cheek is turned away from Sakura. They dont know! And the manner how Sasuke holds the kunai means nothing. He had no way of knowing the kunai was poisoned when he tried to kill Sakura with it.

Naruto wont kill Sasuke OR get killed by Sasuke. He does BOTH! The toads taught him Minato's jutsu and Naruto sacrifices both of them in the name of peace. 2 weeks from now is the funeral triple chapter. Madara sees Naruto's sacrifice and is inspired to end his own life in the name of peace. All the Kage's disband the ninja villages and the world falls under a new era of peace that will be known as the Naruto Age of Peace. Everyone hugs and eats cotton candy together. Story over. Time to go and look at the sun again.

im not saying for sure he isnt poisened, i just find it strange that his teammates who know about the poisen and how it works neglect to say anything to him.

and on the way he is holding it, i dont see how you can be sure he was cut by the tip which was the part poisened.

It doesn't matter how you try to slash someone with Reverse Grip, you're going to be making contact with the tip. That's how the grip works. It's primarily meant for stabbing, but is still effective at slashing, which is what Sasuke was doing.

you are telling me that it is not possible to slice someone with anything but the tip of a blade while holding it reverse grip?? lol common thats just ridiculous, it easily could catch on the side of it. epecially a kunai the way it is wider closer to the grip, with a moving target it easily could be the first part to connect.

^The way you slice in reverse grip, the slash always progresses to the tip. Always. It starts in the middle and moves to the tip. That's how you fucking use a fucking reverse grip.

Looking at the position Sasuke was in, the only way that slash could have actually effectively hurt Sakura would be if he slashed near the tip.

It would be "possible", but you'd basically be getting a papercut.

I think that you are forgetting Naruto's quick recovery cycle. Wouldn't the Kyuubi mitigate the effects of the poison? This actually was a good chapter. The nostalgia of seeing a clash of Rasengan versus Chidori again. That was truly one of the most epic battles shown on a television screen.

Recovering from Poison isn't the same as recovering from tissue damage. Poison fucks with every function of your body. It's not just killing cells, it's making them harm your own body. It's much harder to "cure" that, and it would take more than just throwing a fuck ton of chakra at it to make the problem go away.

It all depends on what type of poison it is on the blade. We have seen poison that stops you molding chakra as well as the normal type so who's to say there aren't other types as well. IF Naruto is poisoned, we wont know its effects until they are shown. There is also no proof showing how Naruto's body + the Kyuubi will handle it either so that is all simply speculation at this stage. We will have to wait and see.
