Edit: Just watched it again. Goddamn that's one of the best MMA HL vids I've ever seen. Saku was such a dynamic and exciting fighter to watch in his prime. And Pride's rule set made the perfect environment for him to fight.

Wow I was on the edge of my seat in that fight. Diaz is definitely the real deal. This whole card was excellent.

That was easily one of the most intense 1st round in MMA fighting wow. Superb striking by Diaz and superb recovery too I was scared when Daley rocked him but Daley didn't capitalize on it so that cost him. Awesome fight.

holy shit just watched some of the fights, wtf happened to daley at the end of the round. what an awful stoppage as well, i dont think diaz even landed a clean shot when he was on the ground, he missed them and there was only a few seconds left in the round. awful stoppage.

edit: i caught some replays of the fight in slow motion. he got caught with a right hook i believe after throwing his own left hook. not as bad a stoppage as i initially thought but i would have let it go a little longer to see what would have happened, plus there was only a few seconds left in the round.

Doesn't matter if there were 3 seconds left on the clock I think the stoppage was justified, Daley was flailing his arms wildly. In those 3 seconds Diaz could have landed some more shots and I don't think that Daley could have stand up after the round. Even if he got help and got iced slapped and shit he wouldn't have lasted long either. Once you get rocked like that its hard to come back.

So 4:57 or 1 minute in it doesn't matter, the stoppage would have been the same.

Lol Jardine actually thought he won the fight via the first two rounds with those takedowns. Honestly even with that illegal upkick I think Mousasi took all three.

Jardine landed like 2 punches on the ground I think, compared to Mousasi's 47 times on the ground, not to mention he peeled Jardine's cap back on the feet the entire fight.

I don't think we'll ever get head stomps, and soccer kicks back, but for fucks sake there needs to be knees and upkicks to "downed" opponents. Too many wrestlers use that shit to accrue points or take rest breaks. If you just sit in someone's guard you should expect to get kicked in the face, if you stand there holding on to someones leg with a hand or knee touching the floor stalling for time, you should be knee'd in the head.
