I have a Zune. I really enjoy it. :3 You do have to download their software, but its free and I use it more often than WMP.

Is it just like WMP? Like, I download some music, and it shows up in there? Or I can make it show up in there easily?

You can define which folders you want the software yo look for music. So if you made a big folder for you music and told the program to look there, it'll show up.

The Zune is dead Mibs, Microsoft stopped making them. The best quality mp3's out now are the Cowonn ones (S9 or J9 I think is the new one out now). Their sound quality is the best from what I hear and the Zune's have pretty good quality but keep in mind that I don't know if Microsoft keeps the warranty and shit.

I bought a Zune from 2007 or 2008 I think and it hasn't died on me and I haven't even used half the memory (32gb). I call it the brick, that thing has fell from everywhere and it still lives on. Plus it looks like one, but I'm planning on getting a Cowonn soon.

And yeah the software is pretty easy and not as gay as apples one.

I have a red 8G I got in 06 or 07 and I LOVE that thing. Still works even though I've put it through Hell. I recommend it especially if you're not very nice to your electronics. Mine cost about 119, I think and it have video capabilities and I could buy music from the device itself.

That Cowen s9 thing sounds pretty decent from what I've googled so far. That J3 or whatever sounds even better, but costs even moar...Eh. You guys have zune thingers and seem to think they're pretty manly. So I'm googling that shit too. I've never really heard of either of these things. So research time. Fuck yeah.

I'm pretty neutral on Apple. They do some shit really well, other shit... meh. My only true beef with them is their horrible propagation of "disposable electronics", i.e. constantly making new versions that people feel they need to have and so we end up just wasting materials. But then, that's also on the stupid sheep consumer culture and pretty much every other electronics manufacturer. Apple just seems to be more flagrant in advertising it.

I have on Ipod from 2003, which has a shot ear jack but I hook it up to stereos and a small knockoff Ipod clone by Philips which my mother-in-law gave me. I think she picked it up in a foreign country for cheap on her world travels or something like that. I'll run both into the ground before I consider getting a new one.

Hell... I have a stereo that's nearly as old as some forum members.

I think it's apples marketing, "Buy us because we're fun, and a status symbol" instead of making any valid points for why i should purchase them. Tell me about your inovations, tell me about your indestructableness (seems to be hit and miss honestly, some last forever and some of the same style/generation break on the first drop)

Maybe that's why doug bought me a Zune, i beat the SHIT out of my belongings and that little baby jsut keeps on going, perfectly, no problems.
