Well in today's society kids are more smarter now than back then so even if their parents feed them with these kind of things, they'll eventually find out on their own and grow to accept it. Of course the parents have to support them through the transition. That's what growing up is about.

I hate how every show that stars non-white characters feels the need to make Santa be the race of the main characters, mostly if it happens without some sort of explanation. Has political correctness gone that far overboard?

Yeah at age 4 I saw santa in the mall and then when I saw him in kindergarten I was like WTF? Santa changed his skin color? Then after that I was like fuck Santa.

The point is that you shouldn't have to put your child into a situation where it'll cause that type of trauma. The child could be just as happy if not more so by simply being tolled that mommy & or daddy are the ones who bought them their new toys. The belief in Santa creates an unnecessary gap in the relationship between the parent & the child.

I knew santa claus wasn't real when I was five or some shit like that. Since I found all the presents in my parent's closet on my never-ending search for pr0n, and knew something was up after that.

I never really believed in Santa when I was small. I knew very well when I was 4 years old that my mommy and daddy put the presents under the tree. Plus they came home every December 23 with a few big black garbage bags full of "You kids look in these bags and you'll get an ass whooping with a leather belt."

I understood from a young age that Santa doesn't exist. I didn't really need my parents to tell me anything even though I like reading the christmas stories and watched all the movies. It didn't really make sense to me that some magical man of Christmas could exist. I even remember once staying up all night on Christmas Eve to see if he did show up. After that I didn't feel disappointed.

hm, for me christmas is only a social event, an institution. i'm agnostic, and i don't care for the religious stuff, but it's always nice sitting together with the family and eating delicious thing.
i also believe that the red nosed, reindeer-powered sleigh riding santa clause is a capitalistic invention. that figure carries a heavy maketing gross each year, especially in the USA (coke etc.)
