ACT its fine, I have a 2005 MP3 player which in no way even compares to the 2004 iPod. And I totally agree Num, does anyone else enjoy war movies? As much as I love football and want to become pro, I've always been fascinated by the Rangers/Marines. Anyway, does anyone enjoy war movies?

ACT-I actually heard that the books weren't cut your eyes out and burn them horrible, for girls.

Tripledit:Halo:Reach soon, Its gonna be a good one. Better than shitty Halo Wars and Halo 3:ODST.

Not exactly like that. One of my gf's friend is a Twilightard, so borrowed the book to my gf (probably with the "OMG it's so kewl, let's talk about it!" effect in mind). So me and my gf read the book just for the fun of it. HILARIOUS. It's so bad, but so bad, you have to laugh at it. The purple writing is all over the place, the plot is a huge mess... and the ending... so crap it's mindblowing. Still wondering how they'll adapt that ending in the movie without it being even more crap.

And now that friend is kind of upset with my gf, because she laughed out loud when she was returning the book.

Edit:

So they informed you wrong. The books are a steaming pile of shit that should be burned, its ashes trapped in concrete and thrown to the Mariana Trench to never see the light of the day again. The movies are able to cut 90% of the crap factor of the books and still be crap.

My point was that scientist can be cult geeks as well. The problem with theoretical physics is that at the end of the day it's theoretical. So basing any type of theory around this type of false science is simply absurd. You must first prove that the science behind the theory is actually sound before even attempting to create an argument based on these teachings.

Movies not so much, but I love war documentaries. From the Trojan War to the Cold War, there are so many historical details that are quite interesting.

Re: Narutard chat thread

@ Num - still. With the sheer mass of literature to consume, why you would waste your time with that.

@ NN - it's called an edit button. In any case, while I still am envious of my brother's still working original pod with the moving wheel, I still enjoy the buttons above the wheel.

Re: Narutard chat thread

Same here Num, I enjoy the movies and the documentaries. I think my favorite War to learn about is the Vietnam war. I'm a documentary junkie, RR, UFO's, Secrets of WWII, you name it.

And ACT- I know, but there was too much wrong with that post. I was just thinking "well...they get what I'm saying." Until I re-read it and didn't get what I was saying, ha.

I consume good literature, rest assured. But I prefer to know why people are bashing it so badly before passing judgement... and they have all the right to do so. I only tell you: the next Twilight movie will be the crap of all craps. Not even Howard the Duck is that bad compared to the mental image I gathered from the book.

Re: Narutard chat thread

War movies are either very good or crap; for every Saving Private Ryan there is a Pearl Harbor. Some are good (most are about the Vietnam War because of the inherit horror and mental strain of that particular war) but I'm not a huge fan. Full Metal Jacket probably is my favourite war film.

Did the whole documentary thing... but it gets old. I generally tune into the History channel now only when WWII isn't happening.

@ Num - Gigli crap?

WWII is overplayed in the war documentaries. It's indeed a complex war, but the amount of documentaries about it vs other wars is overblown. It's a shame there aren't more documentaries on ancient wars, like the Punic Wars or the "Reconquista" of the Iberic Peninsula.

Wait, Gigli was an actual movie? I thought it was a mental torture visual device! So let me rearrange my point: worst than Howard the Duck but not as bad as Gigli.

Interesting things happen on the Iberic Peninsula? The hell you say.

Unrelated: What the hell? The radio just played "Say It Ain't So" and followed it up with some unknown piece of new crap from Weezer. What happened to that group?

Unfortunately, no. I heard of it, but can't read it, since it was banned here back when it was released and nobody lifted the ban yet.

Hey, we divided the world in half, the Iberic Peninsula is quite interesting... until the 70's. Then we go MIA in the interesting radar.
