Off the latest manga we have learned that Naruto can now imitate the Yellow Flash, which gave Minato his nickname. This led me to believe that the Yellow Flash and FTG are either intertwined or the same thing. Although after reading a second time, Yamoto states that Naruto has not mastered it like the 4th, meaning it is the same thing.

I was wondering what theories have been made on how this was accomplished?

1. Is it a KKG? How did he learn it and why did it activate then? When Kushina hugged him, it may have unlocked the KKG, or something along those lines. It sounds weird but if you go off the KKG it is really the only thing that would make sense.

2. The Kyuubi? I do not understand how this would work because Minato did not have any part of the Kyuubi in him, therefore this could not be it.

3. Kyuubi and Sage Mode? The RS body was shown in the last manga, this could be why Naruto was able to move so fast, but it does not explain why there was a yellow flash, so why would Kishi have Bee say that if he did not want us readers to realize it is the same move.

So here is my theory...

I believe that Yellow Flash is a KKG in the Namikaze clan. I believe this because Yamoto compared the technique to Minato's, meaning it really is the same technique, and because it was unlocked in a random time. Most KKG are unlocked during intense emotions being felt. This could had been caused by Kushina, maybe she made Naruto so happy, that his KKG unlocked through happiness. This would make sense because Naruto is the opposite of Sasuke, Sharingan is unlocked through hate while Yellow Flash through happiness. Maybe the Yellow Flash is the KKG and the FTG was made off of it. It could be that the Yellow Flash uses a lot of chakra, and is harder to control and master, while the FTG uses less chakra and uses seals to help control and move easily.

The other way beside an intense emotion could be the RS body unlocking the KKG. When the RS body was activated, it made everything react, the Wood Element jutsu even grew because of it, which leads me to believe that the RS body unlock potential. This would have unlocked Naruto's KKG. The RS body enabled Naruto to max out his power, also giving him the ability to use a power he was unable to use and did not kno he possessed. This would also explain the wood element growing, because Naruto has the necklace and has some effect on it. If the RS body unlocks potential, then would Naruto be able to use seals?

Yes I know this theory is really different but this chapter really opened up a whole new section on the FTG/Yellow Flash technique.

What do you guys think? Is it a KKG? Is it RS body? Is it an entirely new technique?

by my understanding is FTG (yellow flash) used kunai and seals for teleportation. so whatever naruto used was something along the lines of speed. but we did not see nearly enough of whatever he did to get anything from it.

You are correct, Minato used FTG with kunai and seals, but it is possible that FTG and Yellow Flash are different, Minato was called Yellow Flash because of how fast he was, my idea is that FTG is based off the Yellow Flash technique, a simple and more efficient way of using it so you do not get stuck in a wall.

Yellow Flash was just a nickname there was no technique called Yellow Flash.

perhaps my narutardness is kinda rusty. ii always thought that "yellow flash" was just a name because of FTG seeing as it leaves that tell tale yellow flash.

Thge yellow flash either meant Because of the hair you see and Naruto's most likely yellow chakra that flashed by when attacking thus having the yellow flash same with Minato and his hair

May be kishi will give us another flash back while Naruto was training on that jutsu.
Why he is traped on wall if he so powerful then he can break through it easily.

The whole reason they saw a yellow flash was because Naruto moved so fast all they saw was wake from his blonde hair
