Fucking nice, I liked that he just grabbed Natsu's fireball and dissected it into squares. But Gildartz can' control his power or what? Might be the reason why he failed that 100 year quest he was on... Just a thought.

Well, I mean not controlling his powers ALL the way. He seems to have trouble controlling his powers once he uses it.

1) Gildarts has awesome powers
It has been mentioned that he very often leaves collateral damage. Remember that all of Magnolia rearranged to leave Gildarts a wide open path through the middle? So it is possible that he has so much power that he has trouble releasing it in precise quantities. Or this could still be a consequence from getting his shit rocked by the Big Black Dragon.


2) We knew that Erza is a beast and that she always uses her armors' attributes to tip any situation in her favor. This is a wonderful fight for Juvia. Her ability is so specialized that she should learn how to combat against those with water-specific defenses. Honestly, I hope she doesn't advance. It would show that Fairy Tail's S-Class are just THAT much more powerful than everybody else's. Although Gazille is DEFINITELY Fairy Tale, S-Class worthy!


3) Back to Gildarts v. Natsu. Interesting Battle. Obviously Natsu should lose, but I want to see him inflict at least one good wound. I'll be honest, I'm getting slightly tired of our protagonist's fighting style. There is only so much you can do with punching, kicking and roaring fire. I'd love to see him do some sorcery-inspired fire magic (however, I think that would be too far out of character). Mashima definitely does a good job at varying the circumstances, opponents and also allies in Natsu's fights as a way of keeping his battles exciting.


And as a final note- I hope that one day Natsu is cured of his motion sickness. Kind of a silly weakness in my opinion. His powers are already so one-dimensional as it is that I don't feel a motion-disability to be necessary. However, it is a useful comedic and plot device.

It was an ok chapter. Nothing relevant happened except for Mirajane and Gildartz just flexing their muscles and we all know Erza kicks all kinds of ass. I expect next chapter to be nothing but action packed.

Battle battle battle. The effectiveness of these chapters will depend on the totality of the fights. If everyone makes it, I think it'll be a let down. Better than someone fails. Still, interesting fight and interested to see what Natsu has up his sleeve.

I think he's the type to get carried away and forget to hold back. He certainly seemed like he was having fun.

It's like a professional boxer playing with a little kid. There's no way that kid could hurt him, but he has to hold back so that he's "just playing" with the kid. If the kids comes at him though (like a jab to the face) the pro might have a knee jerk reaction and just lay the kid out. It wasn't his intention, but it happened anyway because it was just a natural reflex he had learned during his training. That's my take on it.




As for my predictions last week. It didn't seem like my theory turned out right. Although I did correctly predict Ezra would be on path D, so hurray for me. Strangely enough that's the same path she was shown in Makarovs diagram. http://mangastream.com/read/fairy_tail/30567380/7

Actually I got most of my predictions right except for switching up Natsu and Juvia.

Just to clarify who is on which paths, and make a new prediction, here are my flowing picks:

Elfman-Path A: confirmed

Freid - Path B: my speculation only. based this by comparing who arrived at the island at what point and decided he could have only went though that path.

Cana - Path C: Same as above

Juvia - Path D: confirmed

Natsu- Path E: confirmed (yep I was wrong)

??????-Path F: will be either Gajeel, or Mest

Gray - Path G: Has to be him based on process of elimination.

??????-Path H: will be either Gajeel, or Mest


I think Mest will be the one to knock out Gray, and Gajeel will get the quiet path.

I'm kinda diggin' Mirajane, mostly because its super rare to see her in battle mode using her magic and looking hotter than normal. And her dragon looking arms looks kinda kinky
