I know I'm late, but I thought the Mass Effect joke cartoon was awful. It doesn't affect my opinion of Harry Partridge though... it wasn't written by him, like the crappy bearshark thing for CollegeHumour, and everyone needs money.

Re: Games and all things related

I already have the Limited Edition. I've barely put any time into it.

This is still awesome news though. You can tell consoles can't handle the game. Being able to play it at 60fps in 1080p means the game will finally be done justice.

Re: Games and all things related

Hopefully by the time I get it at the end of this year, I'll have built a new PC and got a better monitor (17inch one at the moment, 4:3, VGA, blah). Then I'll be able to enjoy it fully. The biggest mistake I made when building this PC was telling myself "I won't play any games..."

I might salvage whatever parts I can from it to put into the new PC, then maybe turn this one into a media box for movies and stuff.

Started on the first Witcher, pretty good but the second is much better. James, once you get your new PC, get the second one and run it on high settings.

Also not gaming but, got a Kindle and it's the best thing ever. I've also got comics on it now too and it's so lovely to be able to read them on the train.

Re: Games and all things related

Speaking of Kindles, I am pumped that the Kindle Touch will finally be available in Canada on April 27th. Will be pre-ordering in the next few days.

Re: Games and all things related

Yeah, when I bought my keyboard one, the Touch was release the day after. Slightly annoying but meh, I got it for cheap and I'm loving the keyboard. Let me know when you get it, I'll link you to a few good programs for it and COMICS!!

Seriously, the image capabilities on this are delicious. Only black and white but they look so cool, I've got a few books in PDF format on there such as some drawing anatomy ones and the pictures look lovely and crispy.

Re: Games and all things related

Just in case Dark Souls will use GFWL, I don't know if that's a purchase killer for you guys. I don't mind GFWL that much. Specially for that game. PC community is going banana's.

Re: Games and all things related

That's such a tarded move, but I don't think I'll mind too much. So long as it's on Steam though.

I've been able to put up with GFWL before, despite having problems with log in and save file removal and the like, I can put up with it.

Re: Games and all things related

Someone will release a patch to disable GFWL. There's one for Fallout 3, no reason someone can't build a workaround for Dark Souls too.

I wanna play around with that Kindle. Been using my iPod for eBooks lately, and I think Kindles are pretty neat.

EDIT: Haha, yeah, I forgot that you'll need to use GFWL to pay Dark Souls online. That's turbo gay. There's a petition running to get From to use Steamworks instead, which is much more reasonable.

Apparently Kinect integration is coming for Skyrim on Xbox.

It is a sad day indeed.

Re: Games and all things related

I dunno. They've finally found a way around the lack of a quicksave function on consoles, good enough for me.

Also, it's all voice commands. No reason they couldn't use the headset for that.

Re: Games and all things related

James, yeah I really hated reading too long on my iPod. The screen was too bright and it just felt awkward, even on an iPad. The Kindle is just lovely on the other hands, and reads PDF's and .doc's easy.

Git one. (Also 'cause I managed to download 8GB of books... ha.)
