I just found out yesterday that Battlefront 3 was "99% complete" when Free Radical cancelled it for financial reasons before they went out of business. I am baffled as to why they didn't try to sell the project to another developer to finish for them, or if they did why no other developer jumped on that.

Seriously, the Free Radical version would have been great. Then it got passed to Slant Six, who are a mediocre developer, and last I heard it was being worked on by the guys that made Legendary: The Box.

And that was shit.

I don't get why they stopped the Jedi Knight series. All of the games were great and Force Unleashed was monumentally stupid in comparison.

Same reason everything good about Star Wars gets cancelled. Because it's good.

It's probably because the series was so PC-centric. Jedi Knight 2 had console ports and they were shit. Force Unleashed was designed to be a console game, from the controls, to the dumbed down plot, to the mass-market shaven-headed anti-hero.

Also, there's a good chance Lucas probably wanted shot of Kyle Katarn because he was too morally grey as a character. Y'know, if Lucas actually pays attention to anything outside of Clone Wars these days.

Yeah, I logged into the multiplayer through GameSpy and there are a lot of servers running. Downside is GameSpy, upside is there are actually games.

We could hijack a server or make our own.

I was big into playing Dark Forces 2 back in the day, goddamn it seems like a century ago. The modding community for that game was pretty immense. I had mine all modded to shit, crazy weapons, character skins, buggy force powers, etc... It was great
