Re: Dragon Age 2, Titan Quest and all things related

Well last year I went into a game store to look at PC games that I could possibly get on Steam... that count?

Only reason I really moved to PC gaming was because my bro got rid of the PS3 and I couldn't be bothered to get another, so I created a Steam account last year when they were offering Portal for free... said I wouldn't buy anything else. It's been under a year now and I own about 50+ games on it. Kudos to them.

Well, I don't know much about it, but just from reading posts on here it looks like they have frequent package deals, which is pretty badass. I'll definitely dabble in it when I get back into PC gaming.

Oh yeah, they have some of the best deals and one of the best platforms to use, I think right now they own over half of the PC digital distribution market and they do constant sales. Their biggest sales are the summer and winter ones I think, where they tends to last for a week or so.

Last year for Christmas they did I think it was week of sales with about 10 or 15 games on sale everyday, not to mention great package deals. And not like pussy 10% off sales (those are usually for newer games on pre-order) but like 50% or 75% off. I picked up Batman GOTY edition for £3.75 I think it was.

I love Steam. ._.

Axiom is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Dragon Age 2, Titan Quest and all things related

Now that gamestop purchased the impulse platform from stardock, one could expect them to make moves toward a bigger market share, but yeah... Steam is the venerable king in the digital game distribution arena, and it will take a great deal of effort for an up-in-comer to challenge that. Gamestop may have the resources to pull it off, but it is not an overnight job.

edit: Rumored wii 2 specs. The console/handheld amalgamation seems like an appropriate direction to go in.

I think Gamestop might be able to gain a decent sized market share but will get nowhere near close to Steam.

The "Wii 2" sounds pretty awesome, looking forward to E3 this year.

I take this back for now, Steam suddenly decided that my computer isn't connected to the internet and won't work. =.=

Nevermind, it fixed itself. Back to love.

Re: Dragon Age 2, Titan Quest and all things related

Thinking of buying that. I already bought San Andreas when it was a couple of quid last year.

Anyone want the spare copy of San Andreas I'll have if I buy the complete offer?

EDIT: Aw, bastards. I won't qualify for a spare copy. Oh well, buying it anyway.

Aww, should get a spare copy.

Also, played some Ass Creed today and the controls are a bit weird (using Xbox controller) but it seems alright. Evil Santa just stabbed me for not following orders.

Assassin's Creed is an awesome series. A little buggy in the first one, but they made up for it in the second.

Re: Dragon Age 2, Titan Quest and all things related

↑ This. I enjoyed the first game for a while, but it was repetitive and got boring quite quickly. I eventually forced myself to complete it for the story because I had heard there was no "Last time, on Assassin's Creed" thinger at the beginning of 2. Either they fixed that with an update or my source was incorrect, but I'm still glad I actually completed that first game.
