Re: Games and all things related

I liked Yahtzee's Portal 2 review. Pretty much summed up the way I feel about the game, or at least it's reception.

Bought Section 8: Prejudice on Steam today. It's pretty good. You have to go through the Games for Windows Live bullshit though, which at least means I earn achievements. The consolified multiplayer interface is total crap though. If I bought a full priced PC game that used a matchmaking system with gamertags, I would be pissed off.

EDIT: Also, Assassin's Creed: Revelations announced for November. With what looks like Old Ezio. I am okay with this.

Borderlands is really good if you have people to play with in co-op
(read: screw around in co-op, because the game without any shenanigans gets really, really boring. Hope you like RPG elements, because if you're looking for constant excitement...yeaaaaaaaaaah).

Just got Portal 2 yesterday on Steam after finally getting around to beating the first game. It's really good. Currently in the middle of Chapter 3, if I remember correctly after playing for about 2 hours last night.

I've already sworn vengeance on GLaDOS for killing my first Companion Cube of the game. Bitch gonna die.

Re: Games and all things related

Oh yeah I've already played it before, co-op too, just never managed to finish it. I got to the end of the 3rd chapter (just a little before finding the second vault key piece) and it was always awesome but after buying so many games on Steam sales I forgot to finish it.

Portal 2 you'll love, both the single player and co-op. It's now one of my favourite games.

Jax - Gonna finish Ass Creed 1 after Borderlands, then probably move on to BioShock 2. Slowly but surely I'll get through this list of games before summer sales.

Re: Games and all things related

if you can invest in DLC for Borderlands, here's how I break it down overall:

Zombie Island: eh, half decent as a game, little real reward
Mad Moxxi: Lame, but you get free skill points on both playthroughs (did I mention playthrough 2? Yeah. Do that. Beating it once isn't getting the full game).
General Knoxx: Fucking amazing. This one is already considered one of if not the best DLC pack to ever be released. It feels like a game (though moderately short) in its own right, the enemies will kick your sorry ass if you aren't prepared, and they actually added a lot of crap for this one.
Robolution: Not the best by any means, but it feels sorta like a full game. Mostly good for getting both Backpack upgrades and free Skill Points. And also conclusion to the story of the game. Will also not make a damn ounce of sense if you haven't played Zombie Island and Knoxx.

What system you play on anyway?

Portal 2 froze on me. Right after I finished the first puzzle of chapter 4. The annoying puzzle with lasers, hard light bridges, and that damned turret you can't get to. I am very, very sad.

Re: Games and all things related

Yeah I was going to pick up the DLC packs once they were on sale again, probably quite a bit later on though. Playing on PC, Steeeeeeam!

Oh that puzzle isn't too hard, basically use the light bridge as a shield if you can, then once you get the cube, you can use the laser to point at and burn the turret so it doesn't annoy you any more

Edit: Played a little more Warband, it's awesome. Still haven't recruited anyone but I went to this place where they had a melee tournament and managed to kill 20 before dying.

I tend to overthink these Portal puzzles. I wasted about 10 minutes trying to angle a laser through portals through two of the signals in just the right angle to place the other box to get all 5 switches. Then by sheer luck I found the simple way of doing it. Now I'm stuck in the first room (I think, not entirely sure) after Wheatley reappears yet again in Chapter 4. All the angles of possible physics launches are off, I can't find any switches useful to me, argh.

Faith Leap Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!!! Well, got through that one.

If I go ahead and Steamfriend people on here, I might as well change my name here to the name I use everywhere else. Probably blow the minds of most of the narutard board.

You're going to have to contact an admin for that, might take a little while.

Also, anyone seen Rage? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-LsvYntgL4 Looks like a Fallout and Borderlands love child.

Portal 2 has an awesome plot, it'll only get better from there man. 9 chapters in total.
