If you were playing PS3, I could get you such amazing gear in Borderlands (even without duping any of the modded shit I have for the sake of lulz and profit) it's ridiculous. In my honest opinion, here's how I break down the classes: -Brick: Overall, the worst character. His punches may be good first playthrough, but once you get into P2, P2.5, and the DLC, he really can't do much. Mostly good for supportive class mods and not dying. Tis a shame that his punches lose their epic by virtue of accomplishing nothing and being impossible to connect with. -Mordecai: Insanely good at PvP. Not so good at anything else. For all the talk of him being the "sniper specialist", Lilith can do the same job just as well. -Roland: Hot fucking damn. Rolands are probably the only people who can single-class a team, just because of how good their COMs are. -Lilith: Used to be the undisputed best character, now is competing with Roland after the nerf to "daze" status. She hits harder and faster than any other character, and her buffs on elemental tech basically make her unstoppable. This is just what I've observed in playing enough Borderlands for it to mostly stop being fun. And yet I continue running through Crawmerax over and over and over again trying to get gear, and I continue using the infinite armory glitch to get shit tons of gear. Because I am addicted to RPG elements. Thank god I have Portal 2 and Smash Bros hacks to keep me away from the PS3 for the time being.

Re: Games and all things related
I finished the endboss of Borderlands in 30 seconds. The right shotgun and skills with the Soldier, and it's easy as pie. My buddy had Lilith with SMG spec...fucking effective against most of the trash, elemental damage and all, but against the Guadians and big bosses, she is pretty useless.

@Italic: That's what the Hellfire is for. Constant, huge fire damage + constant spray of actual bullets = massive, massive damage output. And when that fails she has Sniper Rifles and Launchers to fall back on. The only true weakness I see in Lilith is the lack of reliable ammo regen aside from the Merc COM. I love ammo regen for the Soldier. Sexually. EDIT: Onward into Chapter 8 of Portal 2's campaign

Re: Games and all things related
Portals are everywhere. While still somewhat limited in design and function, players have nonetheless successfully implemented portal like features into games like Halo Reach and minecraft.
Im waiting for the day that a portal gun becomes a legitimate weapon in an online FPS game. That could perhaps be the most entertaining way to defeat on online opponent since Unreal tournaments tele-frag. Quote:
They couldnt have started from a better time and place imo either. I've seen LA confidential like 30 times, and with the effort going into its story, this game promises to reintroduce all the lovely early hollywood, gritty crime and corruption drama. All wrapped up with the usual sandbox goodies, with more then your average run'n'gun gameplay. We will be solving the case of the lip stick strangler in no time. Check this mash up video out. Its LA noire footage with music from inception, its an incredibly well edited video. The track complements the video perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed battlefield 2. It struck a good balance between infantry and vehicle combat. The commander position was pretty sweet imo too. Having someone competent watching and running in RTS mode, issuing ordered out to squads comprised of willing and capable players with the skills to tackle any given objective, made for the embarrassingly easy annihilation of enemy forces. whether odds are even or not. So fuck yeah Battlefield. EA is poising B3 to replace CoD as the big name shooter. With them "dedicating enormous resources" to its production, and preparing the largest launch in company history. It has the hype, momentum, and DNA from an extremely well received progenitor to take a lot of activisions FPS market share. The tourney master looks like a young, and unoptimistic Joseph Lieberman. |

Re: Games and all things related
"You've Made Your Point" is the most boring achievement ever. Still sitting there waiting for an hour to pass. What a load of crap.

Re: Games and all things related
Dude, you're doing it wrong. I got that achievement in 2 minutes. <.< Which chapter are you on? The one with the crab turrets or the one after it?

Re: Games and all things related
...what.
I thought the point was to not solve the puzzle that is literally just putting crab-box-things on the button. Is it supposed to be the room with the giant sign saying "TEST"? How do you "refuse to solve" that one?

Re: Games and all things related
The test after the crab turrets is the one you need to "refuse" to solve, the one that's pretty much just a button and nothing else. When he tells you to solve it just walk around or don't do anything, he'll start begging you to do it and after him asking you to do it 3 or 4 times, you'll get the achievement.

Re: Games and all things related
Thanks for the help, now would you mind shooting me in the head after having sat here for an hour? I'd really appreciate it. At least I spent that time watching Looney Tunes rather than any bullshit.

Re: Games and all things related
Yeah don't worry, I wasted some time on the crab turret test too. The achievement said "first test of chapter 8"... that was the first fuckin' test.

Re: Games and all things related
None of these Chapter 8 tests are particularly hard to figure out what you have to do, but you have to do some of them with such stupid levels of finesse. Argh funnels and bottomless pits!

Re: Games and all things related
Yeah most of them tend to be easy until Wheatly figures out the hidden tests that are quite a bit harder.

Re: Games and all things related
It'll still be awesome.
Also if anyone hasn't seen this show, it's called Extra Credits from The Escapist and I like it more than Zero Punctuation. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vide.../extra-credits Just talks about various issues in the gaming industry and has some pretty awesome stuff, would recommend it to all. |
