Re: Games and all things related

My only issue with Steam's voice chat is I couldn't figure out how to set it up so the voices would come through my headphones instead of my speakers. I like listening to music while gaming and if I'm playing tf2 with friends I can't do that as my music overpowers their voices.

Re: Games and all things related

For Brink I've heard it's pretty fun to play and looks like it too. The main criticism seems to be it's single player, but I doubt many people bought it for the single player. The MP on the other hand has gotten a lot of positive feedback.

They say it has a few technical issues but it's a Bethesda game so I was expecting that, nothing that can't be fixed with a patch or two and I think they'll pull through for this.

Either way, it's released on the 13th of May in the UK and I plan on shooting everything. (Also on Battlefield too, got stabbed in the face a lot yesterday... a lot...)

It just feels like a grittier, darker Team Fortress 2. For some, that's appealing. For me, it's kind of "Eh." If I manage to get most of the Achievements within the next couple of days I'm just going to return it to GameStop for some store credit.

Re: Games and all things related

Yeah I get what you mean, I've got the PC version so I expect it to be a better experience than the consoles. (Most of the reviews so far have been based on the 360 version.)

I think it'll be fun, probably have a few bugs but should be fixed in a few weeks which will make it better.

I had been excited for Brink when I first heard about it, but then I lost interest.

I think your mic input somehow got switched to your audio out, because Nerox and I could hear your game audio and slight echos of ourselves.

Yeah, it would be great to be able to select which devices output what, but that could also be an audio driver thing.

I'd be more excited for Brink if it wasn't a bizarrely proportioned sausagefest.

Re: Games and all things related

Not excited about Brink at all, every description and video I see makes me think of TF2 or Bad Company 2 which IMO are better experiences.

It's on Steam's end. I have Vent and Skype set up to have voices go to my headphones.

Traded in Brink and put the store credit towards Skyrim. Feels good, man.

Re: Games and all things related

Played Brink today on PC and I really liked it. Art style looks great (as mentioned, a bit of a sausage fest but that's not really taking anything away from the gameplay), gameplay is solid, no fuckin' snipers, character customization is pretty cool and so on.

A few bugs and parts that need to be patched, so while I'm disappointed that they were released into the final game, a patch should be coming along shortly to fix them and hopefully make it even better.

Absolutely loving the SMART thingy.

Re: Games and all things related

i like brink, havent had to worry about spawn campers, fairly wide map and u can literally jump over and onto almost everything with the SMART thing XD and i like the idea that it supports coop play to where ur team can give u ammo, health, buffs etc depending on who is what class.

i dont play many games like this, so i dont know how it compares so ya <.< but so far ive tried 3 of the classes, my favorite being soldier and medic. to be operative which is the hacker/spy, kinda need cover while u hax and sometimes team dont listen to get the objective done to win x.x i usually just kill off a stray enemy and take their id, run into their place and kill as many as i can before they realize i was spyz. ive only tried coop, not single yet but so far no one has made like bitch cries over the maps so thats good XD

Re: Games and all things related

They better release it for the PC, or else I'll... probably do nothing, but it would be nice if they did.

Edit: Also, Ass Creed has been slightly growing on me, mainly due to the whole jumping on someone and stabbing them in the neck part. I'm on my 3rd assassination now, just started Memory Block 4, and it's repetitive yeah but still playable so far. I'm not really wasting too much time getting flags and going to every view point, just trying to get through it to see the story which seems interesting.

I hear that 2 will be much better once I play it. Hopefully when I try to climb a wall I won't end up jumping on it and then jumping backwards into the swords of my attackers, that would be cool.

Re: Games and all things related

Purchased my first Steam game: Deus Ex. Feels alright, man.

And it's not like I thought Brink was in any way a bad game. SMART system worked just fine, learning curve wasn't difficult by any means, and it's a solid game. I was just bored after beating the campaigns, most of the challenges, and had a few gos at co-op and versus multiplayer.
