Re: A word from Kishi

Even the president is still a human. Theoretically, you could replace him with another human anytime. But since we have institutionalised our society, the head of it, would be considered "more worth" than others.

Also, since the president in any normal, democratic nation, is supposed to stand in for what the people want, he should be considered human with an equal worth like any other.

Ok then. A guy researching a cure for diabetes that will effect millions of lives in a positive way vs. a homeless guy. Do they have equal value? It's a rhetorical question BTW, since obviously they don't.

Then I stand by my original statement. This guy is a dumbass, since doing shit for the lulz is the same thing every other dumbass that has every strolled upon the internet have used to justify their actions. Not that there's anything wrong with lulz. Far from it. A little levity from time to time does everyone some good. It's just that if that's all your after, then your life is shallow and meaningless.

Re: A word from Kishi

You want to be a better human?

Have a great character.

Character is the society evaluation of a person's moral and mental qualities. The evaluation is base of their virtue, fortitude, courage, loyalty, honesty, or piety.

Knowledge will give you power, but character, respect

Quotes for noobs (learn how to break up a quote)
Quote:

So you can post the second bit and i shouldnt be allowed to if i dont tell you? Why be so rude?

Anyways, here is a quotes for noobs guide

1. A basic quote

[*QUOTE][*/QUOTE]

(the * need to be removed for it to work, I put them in so you can see the text) is a basic quote that just wraps something in a quote without saying who quoted it who quoted so

[*QUOTE]this is a quote[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:
this is a quote

Edit: there is a button for this, it looks like a speech bubble. If you select text and then press the button the selected text will automatically be wrapped with the quote tag

2. A quote that says who said it

[*QUOTE=who said it][*/QUOTE] this adds who said the post, manually putting that there can be useful when quoting something external. Example:

[*QUOTE=Mangastream]Remember all you sexy bastards out there, Naruto, Bleach, OP, FT, etc. all on break this week. Feel free to take your rage out on us[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:

3. A quote that says who said it and links to the post where it was said

[*QUOTE=who said it;X][*/QUOTE]

Where X is the post number.

For the post that i originally quoted it would look like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey, how do you break it up please and if your not willingly to tell me, then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]

That is what you get when you press the quote button.

4. Breaking up a quote

Now that you know how quotes work it all boils down to preference, how you want it to look like and how you want to do it.

One way of doing it is copying the latter part of the original quote [*/QUOTE] and then pasting it after each section you break up, write your reply, choose the text you want then paste it after that portion, repeat till you finish the go back and copy then paste the first part of the text at the beginning of each portion of text. Of course you can immediately copy and paste both parts of a poste so that you dont forget one in the end.

The end result would be something like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which without any * would look like

Another way of doing it would be to cut and paste the second part of the quote tag after the first section of text you want to seperate then write your reply select the second part and hit he quote button (it looks like a text bubble),if you do that without anything else the end result would be

To make it like the previous example (which wpuld be preferred, though not necessary ) copy the part that says who posted with the link to the post and paste it accordingly to the proper part in each first half of each quote tag. In my I would copy =minato uchiha;2118164 and paste it where the # is
[*QUOTE#] to get [*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] (of course with the * removed)

Of course you can use any other method you like to get to the end result, but now that you know what the end rwsult looks like I think there shouldnt be any problems

Re: A word from Kishi

Cure diabetes? We did that. They are called insulin injections (for type I, anyway). The only true step up is regenerating islet cells... which is a long way off, yet. (And just to be thorough, Type II can be avoided even if you are genetically predisposed if you eat healthy, watch your weight and exercise. I see no reason to try and make it easier to avoid because people should do that anyway.)

As for "worth" of a human, I draw parallel to diamonds. Diamonds are truly valuable because they are shiny. Human worth is equally tied to perception and reaction. If the President of the USofA was killed, stock markets would crash and chaos would consume the US. Is that because he's truly worth more than anyone else? Not really - he's the same sack of fluids we all are and there are still a lot of people in position to keep the country and government running. Therefore, the economic and social problems that are derived from the assassination are largely trumped up by human perception rather than anything real. The President is more valuable because people believe him to be so, rather than that he is.

This means that human worth is what you think it is. Which is going to make it really hard to argue further. I like to argue on the side of genetics being measures of worth, as there are clearly genetic defects that weaken the population, but even then, nature carries on even if some of the best genes drop out (even survival of the best fit doesn't always work out in the realm of evolution). We are a part of a system and not individually necessary.

Re: A word from Kishi

How about if somebody was to do something creative and push the society forward, and somebody else was a murderer. Is there anything about perception in there? I would easily say no.
Usually, masses are dumb. Logically, there are people who are worth more then others. Doesn't mean they are more human, they are just better. Just like one lion is stronger then the other.

Re: A word from Kishi

Human are smart.

People are dumb.

I believe character is what make people worth more or not. Because character is what he is. Not what people say he is. That is reputation. And reputation is easily destroyed compare to a character.

Because character is what you wrote on people's heart. Not what people wrote on your marble.

Not necessarily. It is entirely possible for someone to have the goal of bettering society by way of killing select people without those people having committed any actual crimes.
