French is my third language, too. I've always wanted to study Portuguese, though.
Is your second language Castilian or am I overestimating the weight of Latin American influence in the US? If it is, than Portuguese would be easier, since the two languages are similar. But I heard Portuguese is harder for native English speakers because our vowels/diphthongs are pronounced in ways that are rarely found in English and Portuguese accent is very toned down compared to other European languages, so mimicking it might be troublesome. And trust me, I know, the British tourists sound constipated when they try to speak Portuguese.

I'm a Sartre man through and through, but I do enjoy Nietzsche's works quite a lot. I'm particularly fond of the quote:

"Wer mit Ungeheuern kämpft, mag zusehn, dass er nicht dabei zum Ungeheuer wird. Und wenn du lange in einen Abgrund blickst, blickt der Abgrund auch in dich hinein."

If you're not familiar with German:

"Those who fight with monsters should take caution not to themselves become monsters. And when you stare long into an abyss, the abyss also stares back into you."

It's rather poignant message.

If you couldn't tell from the above, German is my second language. I've never studied Castillian.

As for the issue of pronunciation and accents, I wouldn't worry too much. It's one of the things I pay very close attention to, and I generally get a language's accent down quite well.

I'm not going to get involved in this, but wow. What a pair of assholes. NLB asked you what it said, and you had to respond with a douchebag reply. Sure, he could have looked it up on google translate, but goddamn.

@Anamoly - Tsk, tsk. Exactly why I didn't join Judgement. I knew it would crumble, and fall and all of the members would be at the bottom.
@Cheezy - Your cool man, but why hate Silver?

You have no idea what we talked about, so I'd keep your judgments to yourself. <3 I was covertly defending someone, albeit through a not-so-kindly worded message.

I'm just saying how it is.

You basically come off as a douchebag, when you act like a douchebag. I could give a fuck about how you feel about it.

And I know, your fiancé has mod powers so you feel like a bad ass - I totally get it.

Nah brosef, you don't get it at all. The fact that she has mod powers is a bonus, but I'd never ask her to fight my battles for me. In fact, I'd prefer she didn't.

Furthermore, it's funny you feel like you are some moral judge in this, considering you have no idea what you're talking about.

And you just quoted what sold me to Nietzsche.

Quote:

Statistics, you fail me again!

Castilian is my fourth language (again, for being similar to Portuguese) and the closest I can get to a German sentence is gibberish with Guten Tag and pfau in the middle, which is rather ironic since I love Nietzsche.

The same with me, I prefer to get down the accent before the vocabulary, and I have the tendency of localizing the accent. For example, my French accent is very Parisian as in I can roll my R's like they were my biatches just like them.

He asked you a question, you replied with douchebaggery. What else is there to understand? I don't care about the rest of your bickering, or your previous douchebaggery, I'm specifically talking about his question and your reply. How can I "have no idea" about that?

Guy 1: Dude, I'm completely blind - what color is your shirt?
Guy 2: Don't worry about it faggot, stop being blind lolololol.

Thats how I saw it.

How many languages do you know?

It's okay. German's tough.

I do the same. My German accent is very northern because my German instructor was from Kiel. Accordingly, I find it a little difficult to understand certain other accents.

I pronounce French the standard way (if there really is a standard) with the uvular Rs.

Too bad nobody gives a shit how you see it.

Your logic isn't even solid. By what you're saying, it doesn't matter that Guy 1 just shot Guy 2's mom. That's old blood. Guy 2's a dick, man.
