Re: 9.0 earthquake leads to Tsunami and crazy fuckery in Japan

Not to mention that Japan is one of the world's biggest debtors and if/when they default on payments, particularly after pumping many more billions to stabilize their currency, the world economy will suffer. Japan will suffer more though, facing national bankruptcy.

I suppose you're right from the economy side of things, I just don't value money over humans. Except stupid ones like these:
BTW I am not criticizing americans, just stupidity and ignorance.

Yeah, because everyone who lived in haiti and new orleans were all adults who were fully capable of leaving and had the means to leave whenever they wanted. All those fucktards in haiti should pick better places to live and better building materials to use, since I'm sure they have plenty of choices in the matter. All those little kids who die should have been more responsible. Everyone has the ability to afford to move, find a new job, etc. whenever they want. It's totally rational and cool to say that people deserve to die because they are poor, born in a shitty place, etc.

I agree manta, the ignorance of some Americans is astounding.

QFT.

On Japan, worldwide - it has a larger effect than Haiti. (I'm not sure who said it) Haiti was more of a humanitarian issue.

Either the Western media is blowing things out of proportion, or Japan used a lot of sugar coating.

In terms of building materials, I'd agree they have financial limitations. That can't be helped. In terms of location, you can't seriously be arguing that their aren't better places to build. The 10 largest cities in Haiti are built along the coastline for a reason. Mainly for the options of trade and their fishing industry. Regardless they should be aware of the risk of living in such places, and be ready to accept it for the gain that they get...or just not take the risk to begin with. Given that Haiti has been hit by 9 hurricanes in the last 10 years, I'd go with the later.

No, but their parents should be.

The thing is, they have to do all that anyway, whether they like it or not, whenever a hurricane comes (almost yearly) and wrecks their shit. Why not rebuild some place that is less likely to get wrecked the next time it happens. Seems sensible to me.

Sorry, but I don't buy into the "product of my environment" excuse. Just because someone is born in a shitty place doesn't mean they are restricted to that place for the rest of their lives. In fact the single biggest boost to the Haitian economy is Remittances, so apparently a bunch of people are leaving that country for jobs overseas. See mibs, even mudhutters can man up sometimes. So instead of giving those people our pity (and money) so they can go back to the way they are, perhaps it would be better to tell them to man up and become better or just get use to the shitty lives they're living and stop complaining about it.

Edit: I do feel sorry for the kids over there going through that shit. Well, anybody (elderly, handicaps, etc) that honestly can't help themselves. I'm not completely heartless.

Oh, there are definitely better places to live. Do I think all the people who live in mudhuts have the means to relocate? I would assume not.

Why not just live in the goddamn sky? Seems like a better place to live then on the shit side of an island in some mudhut, amirite? Some things are easier said than done. I highly doubt the majority of people getting their shit ruined are going "Yeah, I could move, but I really like the view here." Does that seem sensible to you? Or would it seem more sensible to think that maybe a lot of those people don't like dying and living in shitty conditions, but don't have that many options available to them?

Yeah, because everyone can succeed if they try, right? Every single person in America could be a millionaire and live in a goddamn mansion if they would just work harder. Every single haitian mudhutter could relocate and find a employment elsewhere. Since there is an infinite amount of jobs and everything.

Of course not, Mibs. I don't know that it is even insulting towards NN, who I think was agreeing with you. Just that he used QTF on your statement, which was highly sarcastic... unless of course you were serious... then... uh... yeah.

Re: 9.0 earthquake leads to Tsunami and crazy fuckery in Japan

I'm a really slow person but can someone tell me what QFT means?

@AmA: Haiti is poor for a reason. They barely have any resources to fulfill human necessities and keep their economy good hence why the poverty rate is high and they're the poorest country. You sound like an insensitive douche from what I'm reading. Just like those people who say Japan deserved the earthquakes and Tsunami and all the other stuff for Pearl Harbor.

I donated $20 to Japan though. =)

Quotes for noobs (learn how to break up a quote)
Quote:
Originally Posted by minato uchiha View Post

So you can post the second bit and i shouldnt be allowed to if i dont tell you? Why be so rude?

Anyways, here is a quotes for noobs guide

1. A basic quote

[*QUOTE][*/QUOTE]

(the * need to be removed for it to work, I put them in so you can see the text) is a basic quote that just wraps something in a quote without saying who quoted it who quoted so

[*QUOTE]this is a quote[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:
this is a quote

Edit: there is a button for this, it looks like a speech bubble. If you select text and then press the button the selected text will automatically be wrapped with the quote tag

2. A quote that says who said it

[*QUOTE=who said it][*/QUOTE] this adds who said the post, manually putting that there can be useful when quoting something external. Example:

[*QUOTE=Mangastream]Remember all you sexy bastards out there, Naruto, Bleach, OP, FT, etc. all on break this week. Feel free to take your rage out on us[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:

3. A quote that says who said it and links to the post where it was said

[*QUOTE=who said it;X][*/QUOTE]

Where X is the post number.

For the post that i originally quoted it would look like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey, how do you break it up please and if your not willingly to tell me, then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]

That is what you get when you press the quote button.

4. Breaking up a quote

Now that you know how quotes work it all boils down to preference, how you want it to look like and how you want to do it.

One way of doing it is copying the latter part of the original quote [*/QUOTE] and then pasting it after each section you break up, write your reply, choose the text you want then paste it after that portion, repeat till you finish the go back and copy then paste the first part of the text at the beginning of each portion of text. Of course you can immediately copy and paste both parts of a poste so that you dont forget one in the end.

The end result would be something like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which without any * would look like

Quote:

Another way of doing it would be to cut and paste the second part of the quote tag after the first section of text you want to seperate then write your reply select the second part and hit he quote button (it looks like a text bubble),if you do that without anything else the end result would be

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which would look like

Quote:

my reply 4

To make it like the previous example (which wpuld be preferred, though not necessary ) copy the part that says who posted with the link to the post and paste it accordingly to the proper part in each first half of each quote tag. In my I would copy =minato uchiha;2118164 and paste it where the # is
[*QUOTE#] to get [*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] (of course with the * removed)

Of course you can use any other method you like to get to the end result, but now that you know what the end rwsult looks like I think there shouldnt be any problems
