Re: 8.9 earthquake leads to Tsunami and fires in Japan

HAARP did this !!!

On a serious note, all I can do is wish the Japanese luck in bouncing back from this. They are a developed nation so I don't think there will be some kind of donation campaign for this to help the relief efforts, so really nothing much we can do.

Quotes for noobs (learn how to break up a quote)
Quote:

So you can post the second bit and i shouldnt be allowed to if i dont tell you? Why be so rude?

Anyways, here is a quotes for noobs guide

1. A basic quote

[*QUOTE][*/QUOTE]

(the * need to be removed for it to work, I put them in so you can see the text) is a basic quote that just wraps something in a quote without saying who quoted it who quoted so

[*QUOTE]this is a quote[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:
this is a quote

Edit: there is a button for this, it looks like a speech bubble. If you select text and then press the button the selected text will automatically be wrapped with the quote tag

2. A quote that says who said it

[*QUOTE=who said it][*/QUOTE] this adds who said the post, manually putting that there can be useful when quoting something external. Example:

[*QUOTE=Mangastream]Remember all you sexy bastards out there, Naruto, Bleach, OP, FT, etc. all on break this week. Feel free to take your rage out on us[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:

3. A quote that says who said it and links to the post where it was said

[*QUOTE=who said it;X][*/QUOTE]

Where X is the post number.

For the post that i originally quoted it would look like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey, how do you break it up please and if your not willingly to tell me, then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]

That is what you get when you press the quote button.

4. Breaking up a quote

Now that you know how quotes work it all boils down to preference, how you want it to look like and how you want to do it.

One way of doing it is copying the latter part of the original quote [*/QUOTE] and then pasting it after each section you break up, write your reply, choose the text you want then paste it after that portion, repeat till you finish the go back and copy then paste the first part of the text at the beginning of each portion of text. Of course you can immediately copy and paste both parts of a poste so that you dont forget one in the end.

The end result would be something like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which without any * would look like

Another way of doing it would be to cut and paste the second part of the quote tag after the first section of text you want to seperate then write your reply select the second part and hit he quote button (it looks like a text bubble),if you do that without anything else the end result would be

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which would look like

Quote:

my reply 4

To make it like the previous example (which wpuld be preferred, though not necessary ) copy the part that says who posted with the link to the post and paste it accordingly to the proper part in each first half of each quote tag. In my I would copy =minato uchiha;2118164 and paste it where the # is
[*QUOTE#] to get [*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] (of course with the * removed)

Of course you can use any other method you like to get to the end result, but now that you know what the end rwsult looks like I think there shouldnt be any problems

Re: 8.9 earthquake leads to Tsunami and fires in Japan

8.9 scale and 32 people die.

if this earthquake hit indonesia, philiphines or india, it will be 320000 people die.

But still condolence to the family

Japan wasn't very affected by it, since they already have many measures to counter the effects of earthquakes and tsunami (although it's not perfect, as we saw today). That's why the death count is low.

I think that they can clean up the effects by themselves.

The Japanese people are better prepared than the what the U.S. thinks. They might not need our help but the U.S. are still going to help because its what we do I guess.

You guys are aware that Japan doesn't need help in the way Iraq "needed help," right?

Indeed... I consider this a warning shot from Mother Earth rather than full fury. People better get ready in case she really gets pissed off with us.

Terrible thing, but what happens when you live on the Ring of Fire. Morbidly interested to see how far the Tsunami goes, as there are warnings in California now. Also, didn't Hawaii have a minor quake too?

Maybe it's me, maybe it's the increase in monitoring technology and world media, but it just seems like the earthquakes are getting more violent and frequent. 2004 Indian Ocean/Indonesia + Tsunami (magnitude 9.1 - 9.3), plus 13 others in the past 4 years, all but one over 7. Chili has had 9 earthquakes in the past 5 years over a magnitude of 6, including an 8.8 in 2010, more than the previous 30 years combined. The Haitian earthquake, first major one in over 50 years was rather devastating. I don't remember even hearing about earthquakes in Australia or New Zealand before even (i'll put that one on the media).

Could mean nothing, but there is a stretch that has been relatively calm... West Coast of North America seems overdue. Particularly the northern portion.

Re: 8.9 earthquake leads to Tsunami and fires in Japan

Just did another check - three of the largest earthquakes recorded/estimated have occured in the 2000's: the 8.9 that just hit Japan, the 2010 Chilean earthquake 8.8 and the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake 9.2.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_o...s_by_magnitude

Interestingly, three of the top four occurred between 1952 and 1964. Patterns?

32 people? More then 300 confirmed deaths, and it will be about 1000. Friend from Japan talked to me today.

Oh, wow. Watch the video on the front page of CNN.

Then watch some of the others.

EDIT: Holy shit. This one you'll see for a while. Those poor people driving on the road at the end.

Re: 8.9 earthquake leads to Tsunami and fires in Japan

Many videos already linking HAARP activity with this tragedy. Boy I would love to see Chaves voice his opinion on this.

On a serious note, incredible footage indeed. Word is floating around that the magnitude was about 9.1 not the early 8.8-8.9, not confirmed though.

Re: 8.9 earthquake leads to Tsunami and fires in Japan

250-350 bodies found total right now and 700 people lost

5 million have no power in Tokyo (wonder how many more in the country)

umm yeah developed or not the costs of reconstruction will be in the billions

my friends had her brother in Korea notified to mobilize for aid in rescue work within the hour after the first wave so I would say that they will definitely be in need of help
