Alright, I'm sure atleast some of you have done this in some way, shape or form. So I wanted to know what you all would do if there was ever a zombie outbreak.

Please feel free to explain elaborately as you'd like.
Or you could just comment on what you'd do first XD

Here's mine. It includes five easy steps:

1. Not wait around and stare in shock while I am trying to figure out what's happening!

2. Not hiding!

3. Instantly take action!

4. Search and recruit people who are still humans and plan an attack!

5. Kick zombie ass!!

In truth, since I'm in a larger city, I would be hardpressed to survive as those would be utter death traps, but if I could, I'd get away to the North where the animal population is higher than the human and just be prepared to shoot anything that moves. I doubt the hoards would flock too far from city centers, especially when winter comes. I know a few places with potable water that can survive comfortably enough without power.

Still, if I had to fight - I'd go find me some neurotoxins. I don't know why no one comes up with this - all zombie mythos relies on either undead magics or viral attacks with kill higher brain function. Since the first one is highly improbable that I'd go with impossible, the second one could easily be managed by gassing zombies with neurotoxin that shuts down all nerve activity. Without it, they can't move.

Seriously, zombie apocalypse is easily survivable to those who can get out of the first few days of chaos. Unless it is an airborne viral, then we're all pretty much fucked.

Alright, here we go.

It begins as soon as I hear the news. A mass epidemic, public panic, information uncertainty. As soon as it's clear the zombie apocalypse has started, I know exactly what to do.

I run upstairs and fill the bathtub.

There's no way to know when the water will be cut off. People forget that a zombie disaster is the same as any other (un)natural disaster. Society is a weak construct that depends on a vast number of links in a chain. And the first essential things to go will probably be utilities.

At this point, I assess the local situation. Unless I make some very wrong turns in life and hang out with really boring fucking people, I will probably be living with at least one person who also has a zombie plan. This is the first person to join my party. The important thing now is to find out how close the infection is to where we are. At this point, I find a map of the local area. I locate and mark all the important areas of interest - supermarkets, hardware stores, and locations in the local area I've previously marked as potentially defensible from the undead. And I also mark the areas to stay away from. These are all the places you'd probably think would be a good idea to go to. And that's precisely why. Police stations, local government, hospitals. Places that exist as part of society. Because society is weak. I'm not going to places where the masses will congregate. Why? Because they're going there because they don't know what to do. To be looked after by people who also don't know what to do. Call me crazy, but that sounds like a terrible place to be in the zombie apocalypse. And hospitals? Buildings full of the sick and dying? That's just asking for a bad ending. The only place I could possibly think of going to in that case would be a military base. And then, only as a last resort. You'd probably be safe, but don't forget, it's other people holding the guns.

Asking around people in the local area to find out what people are doing is a good idea at this point. Where are they headed? Who is going? How many? Just find out. Information is as vital as supplies and weapons. If I wasn't sure yet where to hole up, to travel to as a safe place to sleep at night, it's time to make my current abode zombie-proof. Right now, I'm living in a two-story house with two other people. So, how to zombie proof this? First, move all essentials upstairs. Then, destroy the stairs. Then, barricade the windows and unnecessary doors. Make sure all doors can be closed and locked securely.

Even if the new zombie-proof house provides temporary security, it's time to think about the future. Survival isn't enough - in this new world, soon to be ruled by the shambolic undead, I must triumph. This is the day videogames have been preparing me for my entire life. And I know this is also true for my Surf's Up comrades. And so, my quest begins - the formation of Outer Heaven.

This of course, means escaping the United Kingdom. Which brings me to both my greatest initial advantage, and my greatest disadvantage. Unlike the US, I can't just find a gun by looking under a rock or something. At first, my only defense against the ghoulish hordes will be CQC. Knives, wrenches, crowbars and the like will be the easiest weapons to aquire. I'd rather avoid combat - travelling at night, hiding in the shadows and taking the high ground to avoid zombies and humans alike. After all, society is weak. I'm not taking my chances with random bands of survivors. As movies teach us, that's what always causes things to go wrong.

So, I have to escape green and pleasant England, and round up the rednames to form an elite team of zombie-bustin' survivors. This means I have to find a way of leaving the island I live on. This is going to involve travel by sea or air. This means that not only are the undead my enemy, so are the state. The country will be under quarantine, with a lockdown preventing unsanctioned travel beyond Her Majesty's borders. To me, the easiest unsanctioned travel to attain seems to be sea travel. Before leaving, I'll require food and at least one firearm. This will require questing in the chaos of the cities/towns, but with the right information, getting in, getting the item needed, and getting out, should be simple. If not necessarily easy. The two choices now are securing a boat of my own, or securing passage on a smuggler's craft out of the UK. Travelling on my own boat will involve my own navigation, avoiding any sort of organised government water patrols, and securing enough supplies to survive the journey. Travelling with smugglers will mean having to share a boat with other people. And you can trust zombies more than other people. Especially when those other people are doing illegal things. I'll be concealing my weapon when boarding, and at all times on board. This will be the most dangerous part of my quest yet, more dangerous than any zombie. And that's if my smuggler friends don't just decide to take our shit and throw everyone overboard.

Anyone I'm travelling with at this point will have the option to follow me onto the boat, or stay and survive on their own terms. But this is my destiny. And you don't fuck with destiny. And so, I travel onwards, as the tutorial stage of my zombie adventure ends, and I travel the world in search of my comrades.
