At least there was blood!

I went to nintendo.com forums and a lot of people who saw naruto who were not fans of it before LOVED IT! THey are even importing the DS game!

Think of the new comers, not yourself you selfish sub title pigs!
We got a lot of fans from airing it on Toonami. plus Toonami gets better pablicity than adult swim.

Plus the show isn't for adults!

Overall we got a lot of new fans! THEY LOVED IT AND WANT MORE!!!!!!!!!!

I was basing that off of THe way letters are sounded out.

I just watched the first 2 eps subbed so i could make comparisons, and i realized the voice acting in the first episode definetely isn't as good as it gets later on, but then it pretty much got as good in the 2nd episode. The dub did some things wrong, no blood, messing up the pronounciations, yet all those could easily be overlooked, i mean it's Naruto as clear as it's ever been, but then you get to the Voice actors, as far as i can tell they weren't bad, they're just not the characters, they lack personality, Naruto just sounds dumb, the things he says doesn't match his voice....let's see, oh yeah they ruined Iruka's voice, it was probably the worst, luckily he's not in it too much, from what i heard of Sakura, Shikamaru, and Ino, bad, can't say that for sure yet since they didn't have too many lines though. What's good in the dub is the Third's voice, they nailed it IMO, and Ebisu was really really good(after comparing i realized that when he's panicking, the english VA sounds exactly like the original)Konahamaru was alright, Mizuki, not bad...though only one character out of those is really important.
And i heard Kakashi's voice in the preview, it might not be bad, but no matter what it's bad, yet i doubt anyone could have found a good Kakashi, and i thought i heard Sasuke, but i hope i'm wrong.
In closing i feel they ruined the tone of the show, it may still be good, especially to people new to Naruto, but it's not gonna be the same, or as good as the original.

Oh yeah if you thought Hokage was ho-cage you must read the manga only then, right?

omg i was just about to make a thread about this . . . . . i think its safe for me to say that we ALL want to blow up the dubbing company that ruined naruto like this . . . .

the opening . . .sucks . . .
the voices. . . sucks . . . .
the way they americanized EVERYTHING like the names and junk . . . dont even make me start . . . .
the blood . . . that was expected . . .

this is so wrong . . .

This was a good dubb and you should have seen the new fans of Naruto we got!

Possibly the best dubb on Toonami!

Are you saying it is she-kah-mah-roo? Because they pronounced it right on the trailer.

I havn't seen the dub yet, because i live in Canada (it's on next friday) but I think everyone should look on the bright side: Naruto wasn't licensed by 4kids! now there will be more naruto merchandise available, card game, video games, uncut dvds with Japanese dialoge (there should be). It is unfortunate that it's on toonami (aimed at young ppl), and there will be many more fans, but what good are fans really? Naruto already is insanly popular, two years ago (when i first started reading the manga) there were very few naruto web sites, now there's countless sites.

The only way you could look at this with an overly negative attitude is if you were too busy trying to find the bad things instead of focusing on all of the good things.
