Kabuto doesn't always have to take over his golems to show that the fight will be over. Muu's personality was intact when he was sealed. When the war started he said he would leave different personalities intact because he didn't know certain edos' fighting styles as well as create psychological advantages.

This war is turning out to be complete and utter bullshit anyway. While people are dying, no one of note worth is dying, thus making it boring as fuck to read. Doesn't help this fight was lame as fuck and oonoki's explanation of the fat clone made no sense at first glance. Le sigh.

The melting point of gold is 1064 degrees Celsius and while possible to have a steam explosion at a higher temperature, it isn't necessary. Furthermore, if such temperatures are involved, it would take a lot more than a few pieces of hail to cool down water (with oil mixed in, even) and molten gold to create a solid clone. Even ignoring that fact that if you were able to solidify the gold, it's ability to draw heat would eventually even out with the water, probably around the air temperature, which, given that they are in a desert, would not be below the freezing point of water (again, ignoring the oil).

So what Kishi is saying is that Gaara now has the power to alter thermodynamics. Where the hell has this been all this time?

And spare me your "durrrr, this is fiction, doesn't have to obey science" because I've heard it and this is violation on a very basic level that you are taught in grade school. There's no excuse or explanation. Piss poor chapter.

this chapter was...a chapter. Personally idrc about the explanations of jutsus anymore. I stopped trying to wrap my head around them a LONG time ago. At this point, im just assuming all things in the narutoverse work a lil diff than they do in real life...
