How do bloodline limits start? Like, how were they created? For instance, how did the first Uchiha get the Sharingan? Or how did the first Hyuuga get the Byakugan? And so on for the other bloodline abilities? Are they just a mutation within one's DNA? Or is it something else?

If it seems like a noobish question, sorry. But my brain's been doing alot of thinking about Naruto lately, and i don't have the background info on how these started.

I believe it is something within their DNA , in epi. 19, Haku tells Naruto about his past(Haku's) and tells him about Bloodline Limits, as he is explaining to Naruto, he says "Some inherit them from their parents." (a picture of a dna strand is in the background, as he talks.)

Also, for example, a long time ago, their weren't so many breeds of dogs, infact they were all wolves. However, when a slightly smaller wolf would have a baby with another slightly smaller wolf, the result would be a wolf who was smaller than either one of its parents.

The same thing applies to the sharingan and byakugan, maybe two Hyuuga members who had a little defect in their Byakugan came out with a child who had a bigger defect in his Byakugan, and he had a child, and his child had a child, and so fourth. Eventually, the defect became so big that their eyes started to change, and since their eyes couldn't progress as a Byakugan, they started to absorb other characteristics, eventually leading up to the creation of the sharingan.

However, this is just my theory.

Hmm. that's a good theory. Although, i guess that not alot of people would know EXACTLY how the bloodlines started...

maybe the first first Hyuuga wanted to become stromger, so he trained his eyes alot and by chance he discoved some thing that makes the eyes stronger and turnes them white to get the Byakugan.
so there are some kind of undiscovered secret in thier eyes . that why hyuuga protect thier eyes secret by the sealing the hyuuga slave only so if any slave dies the eye secret disappears also.
oro discoved a jetsu that makes him immortal, but it is not blood limit since it's jetsu.
according to the above all the blood limit started by discovering an unknowen ability in any body part. this body part ability transfer to next the generation through the DNA.

i think its the dna... and yes, with the help of "discovery"... those bloodlines have that power in nature and because of their obscessiion with power they seek ways of improving gaining more power...
but i have this puzzle (is it?) in my mind.... what will happen if a child has a mother from the hyuuga clan (she can activate the byakugan) and a father from the uchiha clan (he can activate the sharingan)? will their child have the same bloodline ability? the byakugan and the sharingan, that is?

OMG....lol...this is emmbarrasing but I was imagining a character with the exact same idea, a Hyuuga mother and Uchiha father. What I believed is that if that were to happen, then the child they came up with would have white eyes like Byakugan then in the center they would have the Sharingan tombes.

I also believe that if the sharingan and the byakugan became one, then it would eliminate any faults that they had. For example, the byakugan and the blindspot, and the sharingan having a hard time time reading and predicting taijutsu.

haha..seeing u all post make me think of a funny things
when 6 divided into 2 , it become 3
when 3+3 , it become 6

they used to say sharingan came from byakugan
so , i thk tht maybe byakugan and sharingan are divided form ...the result after a bloodline limit is seperated upon unknown factor , which is 6/2 = 3
so when hyuuga marry with uchiha , their child gain the main bloodline limit
which is 3+3 = 6

haha...lame right...dun offence me...juz some thought...tell ur opinion too
