hmmm.. first is to determine the cause of it.
-taking meds? caffeine?
-anxious? under stress?
-pain?
-noise? pollution?
-etc. anything that hinders you to sleep.
then we have to focus on specific problem/s, try to modify it or eliminate it.

the best ways to treat it,
-establish sleep hygiene by setting specific time of undisturbed sleep. (9? 10pm?)
-bedtime rituals. (taking a warm bath, warm milk @_@, music therapy, lighting, calm environment.
-hit the gym, tire yourself out the entire day. ^^
-medications are last resort. consult physician.
base on my experience, reading medical books, novels at night knocks me off. haha ^^
