One of the more interesting series from Naoki Urasawa is getting a new lease on life nearly twenty years after the series ended. The mangaka is returning to it with a new story to be penned starting in March of this year. The announcement came via the wraparound on a new “complete edition” volume of the series that was released this week. The series, which was adapted into an anime that was released by Geneon in the US, focuses on a jack of all trades character with mixed heritage that deals with uncovering the truth behind various mysteries. The new series will be set some twenty years after the last story that was told.T

The new manga will be set 20 years after the end of the original Master Keaton story. The series will again follow the half-Japanese, half-English father and multi-talented sleuth as he investigates more cases in Europe. The original work ran from 1988 to 1994 for a total of eighteen volumes before Urasawa moved on to both Monster and then 20th Century Boys. He’s since been working on Billy Bat which got underway in 2008.
