
Manga additions sometimes come fast and furious and usually at conventions, but sometimes the publishers can't help but to get the word out in other ways as the editors are excited about the titles in questions. Such is the case today when a pair of titles were made via Twitter from the Shojo Beat editors.
Viz Media made an announcement via their Shojobeat Twitter feed today about a new series announcement. The company has announced the acquisition of the ten volume series Strobe Edge. The book ran from 2007 to 2010 in Bessatsu Margaret and was created by Io Sakisaki. Viz Media intends to have it out under their Shojo Beat label later this year.
Plot concept: 15-year-old Ninako Kinoshita has never been in love until an encounter on the train with her school’s most popular boy, the quiet Ren Ichinose. As she grows closer to Ren, she falls in love with him, but must learn to cope with the unfortunate fact that Ren already has a longtime girlfriend.
Not content with adding just one new manga license to their Shojo Beat label today, Viz Media also announced via Twitter that they've acquired the rights to Mayu Shinjo's Demon Love Spell. The new manga series will be coming out later this year from the publisher. The series has run for four compiled volumes in Japan by the author known for such popular works as Sensual Phrase and Love Celeb. This series began in 2008 as a short story and then became a full on series in 2009, progressing slowly but surely ever since.
Plot Concept: Mieko is an apprentice to become a sorceress, but one day, she has to perform exorcism on a super handsome...?!
