Fans of the slowly growing and sprawling Steins; Gate universe have a lot to like with the way a new spinoff manga series is going to be set. Due to the way the Steins; Gate show works with the reworking of history and timelines, it’s no surprise that the varied spinoff properties that are slowly coming to the surface are taking advantage of that. Case in point is the new spinoff series Steins;Gate Motto Hiyoku Renri no Sweets Honey that’s appearing in Monthly Comic Blade. Mangaka Taishi Tsutsui is changing things down to a school age level for things as it “tells the story of what happens when the lab members accidentally become high schoolers but end up having fun with their newly established student life.”
With the main cast in the series generally being adults, shifting even a couple of them down is kind of pandering to be sure, but at the same time I’m sure that most of the fans will be very, very keen to get their hands on this.
