Fuel rods damage at Fukushima's 2 reactors estimated at 70%, 33%

Tokyo AP:

An estimated 70 percent of the nuclear fuel rods have been damaged at the troubled No. 1 reactor of the Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant and 33 percent at the No. 2 reactor, Tokyo Electric Power Co. said Wednesday.

The reactors' cores are believed to have partially melted with their cooling functions lost after Friday's magnitude 9.0 earthquake rocked Fukushima Prefecture and other areas in northeastern and eastern Japan.

That agree with. In fact, the news interviewed a woman who saw her very daughter get sweep away by the tsunami. I feel really bad for her. I hope for the best for all the victims. Right now, the death toll is almost 6000 because of the tsunami.

I agree, I didn't mean for you all to take it that way. Further more I was shocked that they didn't delay releases..You'd think they'd take time off to reflect on all this.

I posted that so people wouldn't go around spreading rumors on who was killed when they wasn't..Also I care about the people as a whole..Every life is important. So many have been sending donations. Right now FOOD is the thing to send, Money is useless if your country is in ruins and you have no place to go..I plan on sending a bunch of those Ramen noodle dinners..I can get alot and send a hoard of those.

Bad news..Seems you can't just send X amount of food through RedCross..They only take food donation from stores or corporations and these MUST be palatized on large pallets in bulk..You can't send individual care packages..So I guess I will have to send them money instead. I did not know you can't send your own care package with X amount of food

Bad news to report. They say some of the food in Japan have some traces of radiation in them. And they hae a short supply of food too.

Lets hope after this is all over with the world learns a valuable lesson we should have learnt with 3 Mile Island and then Chernobyl..Abolish nuclear power plants..They just ain't safe..There is a way to make power from sand..Costly but 100% safe should the plant blow up or catch fire.
