Eora is in turmoil yet again. Eothas, the god of light who was assumed slain, has been reborn as a massive statue, bursting from the ground and wandering the world for some unknown cause. In his wake are left countless dead and destruction of entire towns and settlements. In the sequel to one of the most well received RPG’s of all time, you play as The Watcher of Caed Nua, a being with a powerful connection to the gods who is no stranger to the reckless destruction of Eothas. With a trusty ship and a ever-growing crew of adventurers, you’ll sail the seas of the Deadfire Archipelago on the trail of this wayward god in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire.
Everything you loved about the first Pillars of Eternity is back and better than ever. Companions you’ve met in the past return and can resume adventuring with you just like old-times, but there are plenty of new faces that you’ll be able to court as well. A dense relationship system has been added, and each character’s personal relationship with you is molded not just by your direct interactions with them but how the rest of the world treats you and your party at any given time. The world of Pillars of Eternity II, specifically the many islands of the Deadfire Archipelago, is a massive area filled with islands to explore and hidden treasures to hunt. On your quest to bring Eothas to justice, you’ll also be managing a ship and crew, maintaining food and water supplies, upgrading cannons and sails, and patrolling the waters for pirates. And of course there’s still the in-depth character creation and tactical combat that made the first game such a success.
