FANDOM spoke with director Gina Prince-Bythewood over the weekend at the comic book, film, and television convention WonderCon. Prince-Bythewood was in attendance to promote Marvel’s new teen series Cloak & Dagger. The director/producer also gave us an update on her upcoming film Silver & Black, the Spider-Man spinoff from Sony and Marvel.

Silver & Black Update

Silver & Black Black Cat

Silver & Black is currently slated to hit theaters in February 8 of 2019, with production rumored to begin this Spring. The film will feature two iconic Spider-Man characters: Silver Sablinova AKA Silver Sable and Felicia Hardy AKA Black Cat. Prince-Bythewood is directing the film, while Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet are signed on the write the script.

It’s the script that Prince-Bythewood mentioned to FANDOM at WonderCon. “Working on the script is the most important thing. There have been such great movies lately, obviously Black Panther and Wonder Woman and Thor, they were all so different. It starts with the script and telling a story that hasn’t been told before.”
