Jessica Jones Season 2 is upon us and before we know it, we’ll be back inside Alias Investigations, AKA Jessica’s attempt at an office. Returning with Jessica this season is Malcolm, Jessica’s drug-addicted neighbor from Season 1 whose transformation in the finale was nothing short of a miracle.

Free of Kilgrave’s mind control, Malcolm will be a new man this season. He won’t be without his own struggles however, as addicts need to keep themselves busy. While he’s not renovating Alias Investigations, he’ll be trying to convince Jessica to hire him on as her assistant. He and Trish will be vying for Jessica’s top sidekick this season, even going so far as working some cases together, to get into Jessica’s good graces.

FANDOM caught up with actor Eka Darville, who shed some light on Malcolm’s journey this season. He shared if Malcolm wants to become a superhero like Jessica, if Malcom had powers, what would they be, and if we’ll see an even greater transformation in Malcolm in Season 2. Eka answers all these questions and more.

Jessica Jones Season 2 costume designer Elisabeth Vastola echoed Eka’s comments in a phone interview earlier this week. “Malcolm goes through an amazing transformation this season. In the beginning of the season we find that he’s coming into his own, finding more of his purpose and his self-worth. I think he feels a stronger sense of style. We really looked to Eka for Malcom’s style and look this season. By the end of the season we really get [him] to a transformed space. He’s definitely one to keep an eye out.”

Check out the video above to hear Eka’s full comments on Malcolm this season and be sure to catch Jessica Jones Season 2 on Netflix beginning March 8.
