The most spooktacular time of the year is almost here, boys and ghouls! Halloween is the perfect excuse for getting heaps of candy, dressing up all scary and, of course, playing with the best creepy toys available.

This guide will help all little monsters have a safe and fun Halloween.

Toys and Games

Look, you could play games like Murder in the Dark or Bloody Mary, but they’re so old and uncool. Besides, there are so many spooky LEGO Hidden Side sets you can try, like:

  • The Paranormal Intercept Bus 3000 (drive those spooks crazy!)
  • The Graveyard Mystery (make sure the ghosts stay where they belong), AND
  • B.’s Ghost Lab (ghosts and science together at last!)

Best of all, the sets come to life with augmented reality. Download the LEGO Hidden Side app to catch the ghosts hiding in the set and return the haunted world back to normal. It’s totally awesome, especially if you use it to freak out for friends and family! But maybe coax them from under the bed with some of your candy later on, because they’re not as used to seeing the Hidden Side as you are.

Costumes

Whether you’re trick or treating, or just hanging around the haunted house, costumes are key. But you need to pick the right one. Adults scare easily, and if your costume is too extreme they’ll be hiding under the bed instead of giving you candy! Here are some costume do’s and don’ts:

DO

  • Pennywise (creepy clowns are cute!)
  • Superman (heroes get lollies too, you know)
  • LEGO Hidden Side Ghost (the ultimate costume idea! Pick one from your fave game set)

DON’T

  • Cover yourself in blood (messy = grounding, not candy)
  • Pile of skulls (sure to freak the adults out)
  • Dentist (don’t remind the oldies about toothaches!)

Movies

Picking the perfect Halloween movie can be tough. Sure, you want something scary, but preferably not so gory that you’ll give your friends and family nightmares! Here are a few suggestions that won’t leave you hiding behind your pillow:

  • Goosebumps 1 & 2 (Two Halloween favourites!)
  • The House with a Clock its Walls (Hilarious and spooky)
  • Nightmare Before Christmas (the old classic that’s actually pretty fun)

Of course, between movies and snacks you’ll want to get some play time in. What about building the LEGO Hidden Side Ghost Train Express set, because it’s cool and fun and sure to get your Halloween shenanigans… back on track.

Follow these simple steps and your Halloween is guaranteed to be a spooktacular success, for every one of you who love to go bump in the night!
