Senior Product Manager - (Platform Team)

About your role:

Join the Platform team at Fandom and work with great people (fans! Star Wars, Twin Peaks, RPG games). What we do? We are development team responsible for building and improving our core platform that serves our 200MM unique users per month, and ensuring our applications and services are scalable, performant, and resilient. You will get to work on projects that span across our infrastructure and that touch all of our applications. You will work closely with us - a team of engineers (we have really great sense of humor and we like open communication, work-life balance and more ;)). 

As a Senior Product Manager, you will communicate with internal stakeholders to gather feedback and develop requirements for features and product improvements. You'll regularly work with other departments within the company (senior leadership, community, revenue, marketing, product, engineering, design, data and more) to assess needs and potential impact of projects. You will collaborate with the platform architect and development teams to determine the best possible technical solutions.

Your responsibilities will include determining vision, roadmap and goals for various product development teams, prioritizing projects to deliver the most value to the company as efficiently as possible and helping analyze data and metrics to inform decisions. You will also create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners and work closely with engineering teams to reliably deliver high quality software.

About your role:

  • Setting product vision, definition, goals and plans (annually, quarterly) for infrastructure and technical teams that are aligned with overarching company priorities
  • Prioritizing infrastructure and backend projects to delivering the most value to the company as efficiently as possible
  • Working closely with Engineering to drive technical features and improvements forward
  • Regular reporting of progress to senior management
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders to gather feedback and develop requirements for features and infrastructure improvements
  • Regularly working with other product teams and departments within the company to assess needs and potential impact of projects
  • Collaborating with the engineering architect and development teams to determine the best possible technical solutions
  • Helping analyze data and metrics to inform decisions

You have...

  • Passion about the entertainment space and are a fan yourself
  • 4+ years of product management experience and content related consumer products
  • Experience balancing the needs of content creators and consumers alike
  • Track record of building new, innovative, and engaging customer experiences that are informed by customer data from various sources
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Excellent quantitative skills, with an ability to run A/B tests, conduct analysis, and draw meaningful insights to guide decision making
  • Demonstrated track record of product leadership with ability to lead and influence teams
  • Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience
  • Proven experience defining and measuring engagement metrics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
