We live in the age of peak comic book movies. A time almost unimaginable even a few years ago, when there were just two or three comic book movies out each year. Now, thanks to the box office successes of Marvel and DC, weve got a constant stream of comic book blockbusters to appreciate. Theres so much happening it can be hard to keep up with whats coming. So, here are 7 upcoming comic book movies, and all the reasons you cant miss them.On May 5, the interstellar a-holes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The original crew returns with a few new surprises -- Yondu and Nebula are now allies -- and they join the team on a cosmic adventure that uncovers the secrets of Peters true parentage.From director Patty Jenkins comes the next installment in the DC Extended Universe, Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot reprises her role as Diana, princess of the Amazons, in her first solo movie. Set during WWI, the story has Dianas life changed forever when Steve Trevor, an American pilot, crashes on her island home. Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2.Get hype because Spider-Mans MCU solo joint is finally happening. In theaters July 6, Spider-Man: Homecoming follows Peter Parker as he tries to live the normal life of a high school student while moonlighting as a superpowered crime fighter. Which, if you've seen the trailers, you know it doesnt work out all that well. Things go sideways, and Tony Stark shows up to put Peter in check. Then hes caught up in a face-off against Michael Keatons Vulture -- hes awesome. So, this is all about Peter proving himself as a hero.Heres one you might not be super familiar with: Visionary director Luc Besson -- the guy who did The Fifth Element -- has the new space epic Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets out July 21. Valerian, starring Dane Dehaan and Cara Delevingne, is an adaptation of a groundbreaking French science fiction comic.  The effects in this movie are mind-blowing but dont forget about the story that centers on two space agents who travel to a space metropolis to confront a space villain to save the universe. Thor: Ragnarok, dropping November 3, looks to be a game changer for Marvels Thor series, with filmmaker Taika Waititi bringing a fresh visual style, and Chris Hemsworths got a new haircut. But wait theres more: This movie pairs Thor with Hulk, but not in a way you might expect. Thor must defeat the Hulk in a gladiator duel in time to save Asgard from Hela (played by Cate Blanchett) and the coming Ragnarok, which is basically Asgardian doomsday. This ones going to be IN. SANE.Justice League is coming! The DCEUs long-awaited team-up movie is coming November 17. Director Zack Snyder is making the movie, but dont freak out if you didnt like Batman v Superman, which was kind of a downer because Justice League looks like a ton of fun. Batman and Wonder Woman assemble a team that includes Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash to save the planet from certain doom -- not Doomsday, but Steppenwolf. Thats not the Canadian-American rock band, but a DC Comics villain you should google. Matthew Vaughn is making another Kingsman movie, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, once again based on the spy comic books The Secret Service by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, and Mark Strong are back, but this time were getting even more star power with Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges and more -- so, it looks like Elton John is in the movie, which if you werent already planning to see it, I feel like that should seal the deal for you. Kingsman: The Golden Circle arrives in time for the holidays on December 13.That will get you through the end of 2017, but hold on to your capes because in 2018 its gonna get even crazier on the comic book movie scene.Deadpool 2, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, maybe New Mutants, definitely Ant-Man and the Wasp, maybe a Venom movie, AND Aquaman. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter brings to a close to one of the most successful video game film franchises of all time. Following the story of Alice, a former employee of the sinister Umbrella corporation, the series is known best for its frantic action scenes featuring the most popular monsters of the Resident Evil games. And while the films and games exist within their own separate universes, it isnt hard to imagine how some of the movies most hectic moments could play out within the games themselves.What are some of the most memorable Resident Evil film scenes that would be a blast to experience with controller in hand? Heres five scenes wed love to play ourselves.1. Resident Evil - Zombie Dogs AttackZombified doberman pinschers are iconic enemies within the Resident Evil game series, and the first film wastes no time putting viewers on edge with their ferocity. As Alice explores a lab, she stumbles across a pack of seven zombie dogs and takes them out with some slick shooting. None of the Resident Evil games feature an undead canine rush as big as this one, so every bullet would have to count!2. Resident Evil: Apocalypse - Church SceneLickers are some of the most terrifying enemies in the games, and taking them out requires a weapon with some punch. Alice takes that philosophy to a whole new level in Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse. She makes a grand entrance on a motorcycle, bursting through a huge stained glass window while using some creative shots to take the creature out. Not only would speeding around indoors on a chopper be a blastdispatching enemies sans bullets would help you save ammo for more dangerous situations later.3. Resident Evil: Extinction - Infected Crows AttackCrows in the Resident Evil games are usually harmless and wont lift a feather unless you make the first move. In Resident Evil 3: Extinction, an absolutely massive murder of crows darkens the sky and overwhelms a convoy led by Claire Redfield. Alice later shows up and uses her telekinesis to ignite the birds into a falling flock of rotisserie chickens. This scene would lend itself perfectly to a non-traditional boss encounter, fleeing the birds and using the mounted flamethrower to take out pockets of them while you escape.4. Resident Evil: Afterlife - Axe ManThe Executioner Majini is a powerful enemy introduced in Resident Evil 5 video game, and he makes an appearance in Resident Evil: Afterlife, when Claire finds herself face-to-face with this monstrosity in a tight space. Most encounters with the Executioner Majini in the game take place in wide open spaces, so being forced to kill the creature with no backup and nowhere to run would make for an exciting boss fight.5. Resident Evil: Retribution - White Corridor SceneThe quick-time events of the later Resident Evil games would be a perfect fit for the the White Corridor Scene from Resident Evil: Retribution. When a horde of zombies attacks Alice, she single-handedly fends them off with a barbed chain and a single handgun. Above all, the scene is memorable for its fantastic slow-mo action shots and great fight choreography. Choosing between melee, chain, and handgun for the main means of offense would definitely provide players some fun options for taking out these foes.And there you have it. Five frantic scenes that we wish we could experience in video game form. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the sixth and final movie of the Resident Evil film series, is set for release on DVD/Blu-ray on May 16, 2017.
