And he failed spectacularly, despite cheating. Questions covered the entire three-film franchise, but not even Pixar stalwarts Reher and Fee could get them all. The quiz is required viewing. Cars 3 Star Owen Wilson Goes Up Against Pixar Team in Cars Quiz

The new Cars 3 trailer from animation giants Disney and Pixar has revealed more gorgeous-looking snippets from the film. Most notably, there's a closer look at Lightning McQueen rival, new kid on the block Jackson Storm. One of the "next generation of high-tech racers", Jackson Storm seems unbeatable  and he's cocky with it."You have no idea what a pleasure it is for me to finally beat you," the sleek, black model says to McQueen's old-school red racing car. McQueen replies, "Did you say meet or beat?"To which Storm retorts, "I think you heard me."The trailer shows us Lightning McQueen's efforts to keep up with the new technology all around him. They now use treadmills, wind tunnels, virtual reality and interactive race simulation to train/test cars, and it's something he struggles to get to grips with.The best sequence of the trailer shows a brief glimpse of McQueen apparently repairing himself in what seems to be an homage to John Carpenter's Christine. The film is out on June 16 in the US and July 14 in the UK.

There's Tons of New Footage in the New Cars 3 Trailer

A brand new trailer for Cars 3 has been released by Disney. And it seems to feature the voice of Doc Hudson, the retired race car from the first film that was voiced by the late Paul Newman.As the trailer kicks into gear, were told that the next generation is coming  race cars with onboard computers able to assess race conditions and adjust their tactics accordingly.But though Lightning McQueen tries, he cant stick the pace and crashes out. Forced to reassess, he changes his strategy when hes told: Youll never be the racer you once were; you cant turn back the clock, kid but you can wind it up again.Hes also told to get ready for whats coming  more speed, more horsepower, more of everything. The voice here could potentially belong to Doc Hudson  who features in the film in a touching tribute to the late Paul Newman.The trailer continues in the same tone set by previously released footage  the film looks set to be darker than its predecessors. This time around, theres a focus on themes around what it takes to win, and falling behind in a changing world.In a nutshell, it seems pits old-fashioned determination over technology.Its looking like a return to form for the Cars franchise, which lost its way with the over-complicated plot of the second instalment. Does The New Cars 3 Trailer Feature Doc Hudson?

FANDOM spoke to the team behind Cars 3 recently  including producer Kevin Reher, director Brian Fee and Lightning McQueen voice actor Owen Wilson  about life beyond the second sequel of one of Pixars most successful animated franchises. And with Lightning McQueen tackling ageing in the series third instalment, and battling a younger, newer breed of competitor, we wondered where the story could go from where Cars 3 leaves off. Producer Kevin Reher told us hed like to see a film focused on the exploits of newly introduced character Miss Fritter, a school bus-turned-demolition derby racer. Id like a whole movie about Miss Fritter, says Cars 3 producer Kevin Reher. Shes my favourite character. Just because Lea DeLaria was one of my castings and she was just great and shes just a crazy, nutty [with these] Maleficent horns. I just think shes the funniest character in the movie. With Reher also suggesting that Cars 3 isnt the last well see of Lightning McQueen, does this mean we could see McQueen move on from challenging for the Piston Cup to forge a whole new career in the demolition derby? As Lightning McQueen moves aside to let protg Cruz Ramirez take centre stage, it appears that McQueen is about to hang up his driving gloves to take on a trainers role in any future films. In this way, hed be following in the footsteps of his own mentor, Doc Hudson. But Owen Wilson hints that McQueens racing days might not be done yet. I feel like they left it a little bit ambiguous there at the end, he says. Like: Does this mean youre done racing? and hes like: No, Ill never be done racing. Sometimes a player becomes a player-coach so maybe hes going to go that route. He could feasibly, then, juggle competing in the demolition derby with training upcoming starlet Cruz. And Wilson, for his part, says hed love to come back for a fourth film: I love playing the character and being a part of the Pixar family. Cars 3 is out now.

Pixar Producer Wants a Cars Spin-Off About New Character Miss Fritter

The first teaser trailer for the newest installment of Pixar's immensely popular Cars series.This first look offers a tone we haven't seen before in this franchise. From the looks of it, this could actually be going for something more serious and less silly than what we've seen before. This trailer is definitely pointing towards a possible end for Lightning McQueen.The story will involve McQueen being put out to pasture due to a new generation of faster, more aggressive cars. He'll need the help of Cruz Ramirez, a race technician, and the support of his friends old and new to get back in the game.Cars 3 will arrive in theaters on June 16, 2017.
