His motives are as mysterious as his knowledge is absolute -- which means he's often challenged more by his subordinates than his enemies. Mr. Wednesday is a crafty and charismatic con man -- at least thats what he appears to be when we first meet him in the show. In truth, hes the leader of the "old gods" of ancient mythology -- a man full of perverse wisdom, curious magic, and a grand plan. Hes on a mission to unite these old gods, who have real, physical forms, but have gone incognito and made lives for themselves in America. His aim is to challenge the new gods -- gods like Media, Technical Boy, and Mr. World -- who want to give the old gods the boot. So if you want to stay out of that crossfire, I highly discourage you from referring to him as Mr. Hump Day, as tempting as it may be.American Gods premieres April 30 on Starz.

Who Is Mr. Wednesday? | American Gods

Mr. Nancy is from the West African pantheon, where he was known as a trickster spider god. He's eager to share his prodigious gifts of knowledge and speech with anyone who will listen. While loyal to the cause of the old gods, his thirst for chaos at any cost makes him an unreliable member of Wednesday's team. He also gains power and worship as stories are told about him...so I suppose this video just made him a little bit stronger.American Gods premieres April 30 on Starz.

Who Is Mr. Nancy? | American Gods

Tom Cruise has been making headlines recently because of the injury he sustained on the set of Mission: Impossible 6. A stunt which went wrong saw him limp away with a broken ankle. It comes amid a series of reports of on-set injuries and fatalities. A stuntman on The Walking Dead was killed in July while rehearsing a fight scene, while a stuntwoman working on Deadpool 2 was also killed during shooting of a stunt scene. American Made itself has been dogged by reports of the death of two stunt pilots in an incident which occurred away from the making of the movie. In American Made, Tom Cruise plays Barry Seal, a pilot working for the CIA at the same time as drug running for Pablo Escobar. And  as per usual  he carried out all his own stunts. Director Doug Liman admits that this was one of the reasons he was attracted to the film. But is Hollywood going too far with trying to capture increasingly realistic stunt scenes that theyre now putting peoples lives in unnecessary danger?I think that making movies is dangerous, says Liman. Were not sitting in offices, were working with big heavy equipment. I think everybody is very aware of it, I think safety is talked about all the time. Certainly in American Made, there wasnt a conversation that took place about any stunt that didnt start with safety and you know, actors and stunt people like Tom Cruise, theyre like professional athletes and they do get injured. But they also recover, not the way you or I recover. Their muscles dont atrophy, theyre in the gym training all while theyre recovering and they recover faster than we do. I dont see this slowing Tom Cruise down at all.Liman has worked with Tom Cruise before on The Edge of Tomorrow, and says he was the one leading the safety charge.No, Ive never seen Tom have a near miss. I dont think hes ever had a near miss. Things can happen, you can get injured you can twist your ankle running but hes so precise about his preparations for his stunts. When we were shooting Edge of Tomorrow, we went onto the set the first day and Tom literally said whats the fire evacuation plan for this set because it was a contained sort of ship with all these people strapped in. you know, I wasnt thinking that. And suddenly everything stopped for us to do a practice fire evaculation from the set. And thats just the way Tom thinks.
