Call of Duty: WWII is aiming to be a historically accurate game that deals with the horrors of World War II with sensitivity. But because of that, fans are up in arms about the removal of Nazi iconography, including swastikas from the game.  Most are claiming political correctness gone mad, but with such emblems banned in several countries, it's more about respecting boundaries, those that lost family members in the War and make sure the game isn't distasteful  after all, it's an FPS video game. But speaking to Michael Condrey, Studio Head at developer Sledgehammer Games, he confirmed to FANDOM that the team aren't totally removing such iconography for the game. According to Condrey, you will see such emblems in the single-player campaign, just not in the multiplayer. With the Power Rangers movie out now on Blu-ray and DVD, we've got our hands on an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with the producers behind the 'Mighty Morphin' phenomenon.In the above video, Haim Saban - the man responsible for bringing the Power Rangers from Japan to the U.S. - describes how he first found the superheroes."The origin is really in Japan" he explains. "Back in 1984 they only had three channels. I was laying in bed watching TV and there wasnt anything to watch except for this show that have five kids in spandex kicking rubber monsters butts."He continues: "I brought the right for the show worldwide outside of Asia, and I thought well they have masks on them  you cant tell if they are Asian or Caucasian  so we decided to do what I think was one of the first multi-ethnic show for superheroes. If this is trouble, we turn around and we walk the other way. We are out of the business.It's at this point that they are suddenly aware that they've walked into trouble. Piper says, Is this a real riot? This is a real riot. If this is a real riot, do you think this is a step forwards or backwards for equality? she asks.I dont care, Alex says. And were getting out of here now  come on."It cuts back to the first scene, with Daya and a baying crowd of prisoners surrounding her, egging her on. You can see the pressure is mounting on her and she asks everybody to be quiet. Eventually, the picture fades to black and the show logo appears before we hear a gunshot.We dont know who the gun was fired at, if anyone at all, so well just have to watch to see the outcome of this scenario. We do know, however, that things remain heated.The new season takes place in real time over the course of three days as the riot which began and escalated in Season 4 continues to have repercussions. 'Orange is the New Black' Season 5 Picks Up Where Season 4 Leaves Off

The first trailer for the big screen remake of CHiPs has been released. And it looks very different from the original 1970s NBC series its based on. The trailer premiered on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night.Comedy takes a front seat as Dax Shepard and Michael Pea take on the roles of Jon Baker and Ponch respectively. The roles were made famous by Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox in the original show, a crime drama with a dash of humour. The film also looks big on action.The show, which ran for six years from 1977 to 1983, revolved around the exploits of the two California Highway Patrol officers. This time around, the plot reboots the story to make Ponch an undercover FBI agent whos paired up with new recruit Baker, a retired X-Games biker. Ponch is tasked with the job of rooting out some crooked cops.A mismatched-cops buddy comedy, the film looks to be a nod to similar films of the 1990s, with Dax Shepard comparing it to Bad Boys. Its also not unlike the more recent 21 Jump Street, which makes you wonder if Dax Shepard is hoping hes got a successful franchise on his hands.Shepard wrote and directed the film which also stars real-life wife Kristen Bell. Bell appears in the trailer only fleetingly, which is a shame. It would have been good to see if the sizzling on-screen chemistry the pair displayed in 2012 comedy Hit and Run is still there.The film also features Adam Brody, Maya Rudolph and Vincent DOnofrio.CHiPs is released in the US and the UK on March 24.

As The Walking Dead ramps up the tension in the final episodes of Season 7, were bracing ourselves for major deaths. We hate to see our favourite characters leave the show  especially if they meet a grisly end. But with anyone liable to cark it at any time, its good to be prepared. And that includes the cast, who seem more embracing of their character dying than the rest of us. We asked the cast of The Walking Dead how theyd like to see their character die in the show. Norman Reedus, Josh McDermitt, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio, Seth Gilliam, Alanna Masterson and Ross Marquand  who play Daryl, Eugene, Jesus, Dwight, Father Gabriel, Tara and Aaron respectively  shared their thoughts on how theyd like to see their character bow out. I would like to just walk away and go up a mountain, and then a little dog jumps out of the woods and follows me up and over the mountain. And theres a sunset, and people just go: Whatever happened to that guy? Like Outlaw Josey Wales, like a Clint Eastwood movie, says Norman Reedus. As for Josh McDermitt, he wants Eugene to go out a hero. Weve certainly seen some moments that Eugene has had in the past where hes stepped up to help others, says McDermitt. I think Rosita having the bullets and trying to shoot Negan, that certainly was a situation that went haywire. But Eugene did a heroic thing, stepping up and saying: Im the one who made the bullet. He could have died right there in that moment and he would have gone out as a hero. He adds, But honestly, with a character like Eugene, we dont know how he would die. He might just go out by choking on a sandwich. Austin Amelio, meanwhile, aspires to the death of one of the shows most popular characters: Michael Cudlitz had a pretty epic death. He had his last piece before he died. I dont know what that would entail but something along the lines of that would be nice. And Ross Marquand? Alien zombies. How the Walking Dead Cast Would Want to Die

One of the biggest talking points around The Walking Dead is who might die next. With Season 7 gearing up for its finale, we spoke to the cast of the show to find out who their characters would most hate to lose.  For Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, it was a surprise choice.  Probably Rick for Daryl, says Reedus. I think hes probably the closest person in that group to him. I think he would just go apes**t. I think he would just start wrecking stuff, and then he would cry like a baby. Fans of The Walking Dead might have expected his answer to be Carol. Hes certainly shared a lot with Melissa McBrides badass zombie slayer, and theres a segment of fans whod love to see Daryl and Carol link up romantically. Even show boss Greg Nicotero was surprised at his response. Rick is like the brother that Merle was never, adds Reedus. Of course, if you remember, Daryl's brother on The Walking Dead, Merle (played by Michael Rooker), entered the show with Dixon Jr. in Season 1. The siblings had a dysfunctional relationship, and Merle ended up dying at the hands of the Governor in Season 3. It was left to Daryl to finish off Merle after he turned into a walker in an emotional scene. For Josh McDermitt, who plays fan-favourite Eugene, its Rosita whos currently preparing to embark on a suicide mission to tackle Negan with Sasha. Shes like a sister to him, says McDermitt. A sister he would love to sleep with. Oh yeah? Theres just a way hes attracted to her, Josh explains. Its this weird situation: someone hes been travelling with forever and he loves her tremendously. Thats why he didnt want to make that bullet for her  because he knew that she could get hurt and he didnt want that to happen. For Tom Payne, who plays Jesus, its Maggie: Hes seeing her as a potential leader to take over from Gregory. As well, I think he sees hope in her, and if he lost her hed have to start again. Austin Amelio, Ross Marquand and Seth Gilliam who play Dwight, Aaron and Father Gabriel respectively, also pick the characters theyd least like to see meet their grisly fates in the video above. The Walking Dead Cast on Who Theyd Hate to See Die

On paper, J.A. Bayona may not seem like the best choice to direct a children's movie. With feature film credits like the 2007 horror The Orphanage, and the Ewan McGregor/Naomi Watts tsunami drama The Impossible, Bayona hasn't exactly cultivated a kid-friendly aesthetic. But that's actually why he's the right director for A Monster Calls, the story Conor O'Malley, a young boy coping with his mother's illness who is befriended by a giant tree-like "monster." In fact, there's a throughline in Bayona's work that culminates in the adaptation of Patrick Ness' novel. "When I first read the novel, I was surprised by how close it felt to the other films I'd done before," Bayona says. "All my other films were really about growing up, and this is a story about growing up. How Conor needs to understand that life can be black and white at the same time. He needs to accept that uncertainty. That's what it means to be alive."Bayonne, an '80s kid (he's 41), likens the movie to his favorite childhood stories that dealt with the complexities of growing up in similar ways. "It's a big fantasy that deals with a lot of emotion that talks about childhood in a very respectful way," he says. "It talks about the complexities of growing up. It reminded me of E.T. or The NeverEnding Story. It's so rare to see those kinds of movies nowadays, and that's why I wanted to be a part of it."Like any other book-to-film adaptation, there were changes to the story in bringing it to the screen. Bayona insisted on one point in particular: "A Monster Calls is a story that, for me, had to be full of hope. I remember the first time I sat down with Patrick... I told him I wanted to find life, hope, and truth at the end of the story.  The idea I suggested to him was that Conor was an artist. He had to be an artist because I was then able to visualize his inner world and find hope at the end of the story through that and the very special connection he has with his mother."Bayona hopes A Monster Calls can help audiences -- children and grown-ups, too -- better understand their emotional lives. "I love fantasy," he says. "I thought this story was interesting because it talks about how we need fantasy to understand reality.""Every time I do a film," Bayona explains, "I'm very connected to the humanity behind the story. We all need fantasy when we grow up. I think somehow fantasy helps us to process dark thoughts and complicated emotions. It's through stories when we watch movies or read books, that we have a better comprehension of what life is about. I think fantasy explains reality much better than reality."

Director J.A. Bayona Finds Meaning In 'A Monster Calls'

Its rare for us to get big-budget event films that actually make us think. The era of the popcorn movie is in full effect, with superhero movies and Star Wars providing us with enjoyable escapism on a scale weve never seen before. Sure, we spend tons of time debating fan theories about Reys parents and pontificating on the future of the DC Extended Universe, but its all in service of mythology hand-wringing and action figure aestheticism.Blade Runner 2049 is none of that. Its a true sequel to the original film in that its utilizing the sci-fi genre to explore difficult and powerful themes such as love, identity, legacy, and memory. The film is challenging, not only thematically but also with its stark direction from director Denis Villeneuve and its visual splendor from director of photography Roger Deakins. This doesnt look or feel or move like the typical fantasy fare weve been conditioned to lap up with little to no contemplation.Unlike the base pleasures and easy-to-digest mythology of Star Wars, Blade Runner 2049 steeps its imagery and characters in complexity. That alone is so refreshing to see. In an age where disposable cinema and brand loyalty reign supreme, Blade Runner 2049 is about as close as were going to get to art cinema in the genre blockbuster arena.But, Blade Runner 2049 is not some action blockbuster. It is a hard sci-fi detective drama. The filmmakers and studio didnt reshape this to fit into the mainstream. While there are moments of action in the film, they are quick, brutal, and never solely about creating a set-piece. They inform the plot, enhance the characters, and keep the mystery engaging.And that mystery is great. Unlike the original film, there is an enigma that unfolds for both our lead character and the audience. This makes Blade Runner 2049 work on its own merits. Though, fans of the first film will find plenty to chew over in this sequel. Elements from the original are used in provocative and profound ways, but they arent necessary to enjoy this movie by itself. That is how you know this is a solid sequel: it stands as its own movie.However, plot alone does not a good film make. We need to have characters that are compelling, flawed, relatable, and driven. Blade Runner 2049 excels in this category. I dont want to spoil any specifics  go into this as blind as you can  but I can say that each character is interesting and powerful in their own right.Ryan Gosling is channeling his persona from Drive in this and it works. The Driver and Officer K feel cut from the same cloth: quiet, determined men who are secretly fragile and searching for something more than excellence in their profession. Officer Ks task is hunting down replicants, but a particular case offers a new twist to his job. Harrison Ford is used in just the right amount as the returning Rick Deckard. And hes as somber, caustically funny, and heartwarming as he should be.But, the standouts for me are the female characters. Ana de Armas as Joi is a revelation and instantly became one of my favorite characters from either film. Sylvia Hoeks as the unrelenting Luv is putting in one of the best antagonist performances of the year, and she easily equals the iconic status of Pris from Blade Runner. Plus, casting Robin Wright as an authority figure is a smart call. Her Lt. Joshi exudes power and respect while maintaining a sympathetic core that makes her likable.And if youre worried about Jared Leto as industrialist Niander Wallace, he is used sparingly and in the right ways as to never feel overbearing or showy. Its more of a supporting role than you might think, and its actually a fairly effective one.
