HEX: Shards of Fate, the upcoming game from Cryptozoic Entertainment, combines the amazing community and role-playing aspects of a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMO) with the compelling collectible and strategic gameplay of a Trading Card Game (TCG) to create an entirely new category of a game, the MMO/TCG. The action card “Survival of the Fittest” shows a way for two troops to battle outside of the normal combat step. And if any of the two troops survives this ordeal, it’s gets a permanent boost in strength! The card shines in a deck full of wild troops that are already all about getting bigger and bigger, or you can use it in a blood deck that is full of effects that trigger when a troop dies. In PvE, you can use the Vanquisher’s Reward equipment to make your strongest troop survive even longer, ensuring that your carefully laid out plan comes to fruition. All in all, this card has both offensive and defensive capabilities that allow you to swing a match in your favor.
While the Coyotle might not be the main focus of the first set, with “Wind Whisperer” they are already showing their personality. This gentle Coyotle will keep an opposing troop exhausted every turn. Such a power is best used in a control deck, that plans to win the game with one big bang at the end. The Fleet Feet Boots equipment already suggests that you can best combine this diamond troop with some sapphire cards, another color with a focus on control. And the Captivating Helm aids you further in the control plans, by allowing you to survive longer. This all will make the Wind Whisperer an important player in many control decks.
