Jason Voorhees is the New York Yankees of the horror genre — his mask is instantly recognizable and terrifying, and maybe one of the most branded things on Earth. You can get hockey mask t-shirts, coffee cups — you name it, we can Jason-o-fy it. I mention this because looking at Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle might instill some flight or fight responses in people who believe certain things don’t go together…like a bloody horror film franchise being combined with a cute-looking puzzle game, for instance. Let me assure you: Killer Puzzle isn’t just a gimmick, it’s an entirely new and fun way of thinking about this quintessential horror icon.

Killer Puzzle is, at its core, a sliding puzzle game. You must move Jason up, down, and across each level, navigating obstacles and avoiding hazards to get to camp counselors. To kill them, of course. Slay your way through over 100 levels, unlocking new weapons and costumes to up the ante. Make your way to a counselor and you have the choice of being treated to a gruesome, R-rated death scene or a more humorous and family-friendly PG scene. If you have any doubts of the quality of the game, rest assured that Blue Wizard Digital, made up of ex-Bejeweled and Plants vs. Zombies devs, has done something like this before in the form of Slayaway Camp. These guys know their slasher/puzzlers, folks.
