Earlier this week Motiga, an independent studio based in Bellevue, Washington, announced their first project: a multiplayer online battle arena title called Gigantic. This team-based action game offers a fresh new take on the genre, fusing strategy, progression, and teamwork with a breathtaking art-style that is hard to ignore. But that only scratches the surface of what’s to offer. Continue reading to learn more!

Gigantic strives to set itself apart from other MOBAs, Team Action Games, Hero Brawlers, and other games of the sort, by providing a new take on the genre by making your “base” an active participant in the battle. You and four teammates will fight alongside a “Guardian,” a fifty-foot behemoth that you’ve sworn your (virtual) life to protect! Of course you’ll have to fend off other teams of players as you take the fight to their Guardian, but be careful – they can pack a serious punch, and turn the tide of battle in an instant if you aren’t careful.

The Guardian you choose will be just as important as the team you put together, and Motiga has promised multiple Guardians to choose from, each with their own attacks, abilities, and attributes that make them stand out from each other. The roster will be expanding well after launch, as well, with Gigantic receiving regular updates to always provide new champions to master, new Guardians to protect, and new experiences to master.

Gigantic is being helmed by an experienced group of designers who have worked on some of the most popular and successful PC franchise, like Starcraft and Guild Wars. Slated for a release at some time in 2015, Motiga has announced that a playable build of the game will be on the show floor at PAX Prime, giving gamers the opportunity to see Gigantic first-hand and see what has so many people buzzing.

As the game inches closer to its release and more information is revealed, you can expect to find it on our Gigantic Wiki (pardon the pun). If you want to be a part of our ever-growing Wiki community, you can become a contributor by checking out our Help Wiki.
